Is to insinuate your the perfect worker over the internet though isn't it? I put it down to a matter of respect and manner of the job. Lakeoffire said it was basically a dead end job, like most of mine have been- and that's just a because of age. Had I got my degree already and worked in somewhere a little more sophisticated then I doubt I could personally see any reason for slacking. However, I have been known to slack. Working in a supermarket and getting called a faggot constantly by your section manager, who just so happens to be the same age as you, this is the sort of job I will and have justified doing nothing. Different horses for different causes, I believe.
Amen... but it almost never works out that way. I've noted that endlessly bitching about it to supervisors is as likely to get the bitcher fired as it is the laggard. Supervisors are often lazy as well and they are fucking good workers over by allowing them to take up the slack created by lazy coworkers but it is what it is.... attempting to force them (supervisors) to do THEIR job will invariably focus attention on you and has a way of backfiring.
i'm not sure if there's a typo in there or if i'm just being dense, but i'm not sure what this sentence means. i kind of understand the slacking when you have a shitty manager. i've been tempted to just say "fuck it" a couple times when working for truly evil fucks, but then i remembered that i still respected the people i worked with and i ended up doing the job right for their sake rather than for upper management.
I just wish that people would either focus on the job 100% or leave. There are 10 dead end jobs that my company has. The rest of the jobs do have possibilities for advancement. They need to be physically and mentally present or they should leave. With unemployment as high as it is, yes someone wants the dead end job she has. I hope she gives a notice so they can find someone else to do the job.
