Hey...my band jsut got finished recording ...was just wondering if I could get some feedback. I am not promoting...just curious if this is worth pursuing...thank you http://www.audiostreet.net/artists/005/956/from_the_ashes.html
It's pretty good. I don't feel I should be the person to tell them what is and is not worth persuing in terms of thier artistic vision. The band was a bit poppy of a sound for me. The singer sounded a lot like Lajon of Sevendust. It's a bit of a monotonic sound for my tastes and in my opinion. The only metal I'm really into is progressive and '80s metal, but within that numetal paradigm you guys aren't too bad. All of my complaints would pertain to something missing from progressive and '80s metal, so it would be hard for me to judge a numetal band. I'd say the phrasing was too much of the same thing through-out the song, there wasn't a whole lot of change, which is what I look for in a song. The lead was a bit lacking as well, I mean, the whole minor harmonic phrasing has gotten old, especially within such a structural context, and I also favor leads that last a bit longer, along with outside-of-the-box phrasing. The tone was very metal, though. For the music you play you guys are good, you play well for a numetal band. Numetal doesn't really ask for great leads, the singers with the most range or a hook within a song, really.
It's very very good, i'd come and see you! It's tight, the production is great and it doesn't get boring. Guitar solo is really good, very different. using modes or an indian raga there or somethin? It's cool, man - i like it! rock on! Jaz
this shit rocks, man!!! Your music reminds me of someone but im not sure who yet...."will i stand" reminded me at times of velvet revolver....but actually slightly more interesting , which was really cool . The singer here has a really good voice - i like it alot! You guys should keep at it...its definitely worth pursuing, man peace and love xxxxxx
i htink it's ok, sounds a lot like soundgarden.(um will i stand i think) vocals sound too um clean if that makes sense to ya. to harsh to be singy to clean to be growly. but s'not my flovour tho. and i can smell a korny bounce
Wow. Not bad at all, mate. The vocals remind me a tiny bit of Matt Barlow from Iced Earth at times at the powerful parts, which is only a good thing, of course. The music is more than worthy of being released, modern but with a classic vibe, I really like it! It may benefit from a little more powerful production with the guitars a little more to the front, but other than that, you can be proud of it! Kudos as well on the beautiful logo.
