Hi guys! My mates and I are planning on a trip through half of Europe this summer (we live in Sweden) and Amsterdam is one of the first places on our list, of course. We definitely want to try things out and really make this the best time of our lives since we'll be going to college next year and we'll probably have to start studying. Now my mates have never smoked, and I've had 2-3 "joints" in my life. I don't know what it contained, but it cost about 10 euros/g. Bought it in Romania, and after some wasted cigs I actually managed to get high, I think. My legs started shaking, I spoke very fast and this amazing feeling came over me. Ah, how I want that feeling again. Anyway, back to Amsterdam. We'll be there for two days (maybe more if I manage to convince my friends) but my greatest fear is that we'll be ripped off. I'm the only one that's had any experience with drugs and I literally know nothing. I might be able to roll a proper one with enough tries but that might be too costly. And then there's so many choices! I stumbled across this forum today and I've spent most of my school time browsing through it. There's stickied topics with so many different types of grass, and then there's hash which I don't even know how to smoke. Whoa, there's so much to learn. I don't want to bother the bartenders (budmen?) too much and I would be grateful for some newbie tips. I've already picked some must-visit places, such as Amnesia and Grey Area, but I ran into that stickied price list and the accessories prices scared me. Best thing for us would be to actually meet up with someone in Amsterdam who actually knows all this and would be willing to help us out, but that seems a bit far fetched. We'll be there somewhere around the middle of June, though I apologize for the wall of text, but I got very excited from reading about all the experiences people on this forum have had. I'm really looking forward to it and I hope I haven't upset too many by posting this instead of just... googling it.
It's no problem looking for help from others here on the boards. Truthfully though I think it's all a big load of worrying for nothing So long as you buy your weed in a cafe, and perhaps avoid the pre-rolls (you don't know how much green is in one of those), you will probably be fine. You can just browse those places much like you would for a new camera in normal stores The weed is pretty decent in Amsterdam as well, so you wouldn't need to get anything to strong to get stoned- which in turn helps save you money. I smoked White Widow quite a bit over there, as it was affordable and strong enough to get a good buzz going. Finally, all I can really say is that the people in these coffee shops can be really nice. If you really are stuck for help the smaller places, avoiding some of the more commercial ones (the grasshopper and the bulldog) you will more than likely come across people who are willing to help you with any queries. And that's not saying these larger places are bad, they just can be busy for the people at the tills. Have a wicked time, I wish I could be out there in June
Just don't buy anything of the street. You will get ripped of there, but you're talking heavier drugs anyways.
buying from a 'reputable' coffee shoppe will yield great results. You needn't worry about buying weed (don't buy pre-rolled, it's not worth it) from any major shoppe, but the smaller shoppes are a bit less consistent with their grade of weed. most places are cool, and you will enjoy yourself immensely!
