I shave mainly because I feel that it is clean come that time of the month. Plus it feels awesome and not pubes getting tugged in the undies.
The first time I shaved it was because I had grown pubes, when none of my peers had, and I felt like a freak. The next time was when I had to be shaved for surgery when I had my appendix out (as it happened, the male nurse who did the shaving was one of those same peers from my schooldays). A few years later I became increasingly aware of my pubes becoming grey, along with the rest of my hair. As I couldn't stand the sight of these grey hairs I took the razor to them once again. At first, the thrill of the taboo is what gives the kick, but once you get used to it being smooth it feels so comfortable that you don't want it any other way. To this day, though, I still make it a point to remind myself of why I keep them shaved by shaving them on Valentine's Day (Feb 14th), and then letting them grow for the next 6 weeks until my birthday (March 28th), by which time they are almost fully restored, at which time, off they come again - a condition I always look forward to with great anticipation.
