I definitely do agree that there are certain situations where abortion is and isn't necessary or appropriate.
Like you said, I think it is really wrong for people to use abortion as birth control. That is not only wrong, it's fucking stupid. However if they are this stupid, i do not want them to be the ones responsible for the parenting of future generations. They should be sterilized, however it is simply wrong to force stupid people to be sterilized.

But I think if a person was on birth control and was using it responsibly, and still they got pregnant (which of course is quite rare) it is not the worst thing to get an abortion. I would. Firstly because I am simply not stable enough for it. Not financially, mentally, or emotionally. If I am going to bring a baby into this world, I really want to be ready to love it, nurture it and give it all the things it needs and deserves. And I know this is weird and probably rather selfish, but I couldn't bare to put a baby up for adoption. I just wouldn't be able to do it. I am really okay with the idea of being sterilized, but I want to be more sure. At this point, I don't think I will want children. But hello, I am 19, and I could have a huge change of heart. You never know. I don't want to do it until I know it is what is right for me.

Plus, the world is becoming such a disaster. There are too many humans. Yes, people should be smarter about sex in the first place, but i just think it is important to lower the birth rate in any way possible (not to say abortions should be done super late in a pregnancy or anything). I would feel wrong about creating a new person while we already have more than the earth can handle.

 

Start with one pregnant teenage girl and here is the typical conservative stance:

• She can't have an abortion, forcing her to carry this fertilized egg to birth.
• She can't get health care for the pregnancy, because that would be Socialism. If she has a drug problem, she can't get help for that either, because she just shouldn't be on drugs and there is not enough funding for drug treatment programs; because that would be Socialism.
• When the child is born they don't want her on welfare, because that would be Socialism. She's supposed to get a job at the Waffle House making about $5.00 an hour. That's supposed to pay the rent, get health care for her and the child, etc, etc, etc.
• If she has no other way to feed her child and has to resort to prostitution, they want her locked up.
• If the child grows up a to be a troubled teen and kills someone in a drug deal to make money for his down and out mother, then, they want to kill him.

Turns out, the only people who have a "right to life," are the ones the conservatives deem worthy of living.

So, why don't we call this what it is, a Theocratic movement to replace the Constitution with the Bible.

As for the clinic bombings and murders of doctors, I have no doubts that this is an organized conspiracy led by people like Randall Terry to flood the media and internet with images meant to inflame the passions of people who have serious mental health issues. They know that sooner or later some nut-job with a Messiah complex will do their dirty work for them, while they sit back and deny any responsibility.

I have a split stance, I believe in some cases its ok for abortions, but in others it's not.
I understand that it is going to be hard for a teen to raise a baby, but that's kind of her fault for engaging in sexual activities. If your going to have sex, think before, and use birth control and what not...

I think the big question here is, who gets to tell who what to do about pregnancy? While Conservatives are demanding it be forbidden, liberals are not demanding it be mandatory, only that freedom prevail. After all, this is touted to be a free country, isn't it?

I'm still waiting for anti-abortionists to pony up to the bar and pay for the expenses of having and raising these unwanted children. I'm also waiting for anti-abortion women to take the unwanted fertilized eggs (the ones they refused to allow to go to stem cell research) and carry them to term.

These people are awfully loud and rude when yelling at defenseless women at clinics, but they slink away into the darkness when it comes time to pay the piper.

There are only a few methods to legally kill people, and abortion is one of those. That's why people are against it. Because most people believe that murder is always a bad thing.

You ask the wrong question. The vast majority are against abortion. The question is, does a woman have the right to choose for herself. I don't like the crap that Tea Partyers yell at their rallies, but they do have the right to Free Speech.

A good question would be: does wealth status, or even, let it be, the fitness of the couple to rear the child for the reasons of abuse in society (sadism and mosogeny) make the justification for an abortion by the human law?

 

What justifications can be made for the desires of one to make life's decisions for another? You cannot cloud the issue with fancy philosophical speak. The right to choose one's own destiny is paramount. (if I were female) My destiny is mine, my body is mine, my future is mine; the CHOICE belongs to ME. Any attempt to justify otherwise is a mistake. Once the concept of making choices for others is established, I then have the right to go into your church and dictate how you worship your god. If you want the right to make your choices, then you must allow others to make theirs.

It is obvious to me that those who lean toward these contentions, simply do not share in the proceeds of their faith. Since they find their belief essentially unsatisfying, that seek to administrate reality to coincide with their belief.

imo abortion is wrong for the reason you just stated... you would kill your fetus just so it didnt grow up in the world of what you see... the job of a parent is to protect their child from all the darker sides of this world... if you are fully capable of taking care of your child and you choose to have an abortion then you are making a wrong decision... now on the other hand if you not capable of taking care your child and you are the .001% of the darker side of this world then the wise decision would be to save this child... but just because you dont want it to be brought into a world that you think has nothing to offer your wrong, because the world has plenty to offer, maybe you dont
