I bought some of these and don't know what to do with them. How do you tell if they are ripe? I cut one open and the little things taste alright, but what about the hard seed thing in each of them. Does that mean they aren't ripe, do you eat them, to ya spit them out, what? Thanks
As I remember, you just cut out all the little seed things with the red stuff, and spit out the seeds when you're done. I'm not sure how to tell if they're ripe though. Pomegranetes are good , just too much trouble.
you like eat the stuff around the seeds and then spit them out. As for telling when there ripe i have not idea
Too much trouble seems about right if you're supposed to spit out those little seeds, Sheesh, but thanks guys
ok here's what i do........ cut the pomegranate into fours. then pull back whatever white rind stuff is left, and pull the seeds out and eat! or.......if you want it easier.. and have some more time. put sections into a bowl of cold water. then wait about five minutes, pull of excess rind and let it soak till all the seeds detatch and fall out. and then you can strain the seeds. lol i eat pomegranates A LOT. lol.
just go buy some Grenadine.... its the stuff they use for making "cherry" cokes and such at restraunts and bars, its made from pomegranate, but they use it for cherry flavoring
I eat the seeds, too... just kind of crush them in half with your teeth. Anyone tried that POM pomegranate juice yet? Sooo yummy, but way too expensive.
