If anyone has any knotty boy bars or liquid they don't want i will gladly take them off your hands - i know kb isn't very well regarded on here, and i know and agree with most of the reasons why, so no need for lectures. but personal feelings about their philosophies aside, i happen to love their soaps and what they do for my hair. if anyone has any to sell/swap, note me or email me at earthymamawitchAThotmailDOTcom & i'll get back to you. BTW I'm Jenn and this is my 4th set of dreads. 3 years total dreading now and I just started this - hopefully final - set of dreadies a week ago. and I am WAX FREE.

I think the majority of us just despise icky sticky wax and since knotty boy promotes using wax we boycott their products. That said though, I doubt the soap and shampoo is total shit. I don't know about everyone else...but...I either don't wash them and when I do because I dont want them to be oily (because they wont lock obviously) ill just use whatever is in the shower and hot water. Why spend good money on expensive fucking soap when you can use diluted baking soda to wash your hair, Vuala! no residue. Goodluck with your KB ventures.
well ... i've tried alot of the no poo cleaning methods i've seen mentioned and ruled them out for me personally. acv doesn't work because my hubby despises me smelling like a salad and won't come near me when i've used it lol... baking soda seems to irritate and dry out my scalp worse than soap, and water only just doesn't do it for me even when i've given my scalp months to adjust and start making less oil. that being said, i do NOT use anything with SLS ever. to wash, i alternate the use of indian herbs - shikakai, amla and some others - and all natural shampoo bars, plus i henna if i feel like adding some color. the poo bars i had been using tho are too moisturizing for baby dreads, i think - and the knotty boy bar is not, and leaves no residue. so i enjoy it. oh yeah i CANNOT use dr bronners either... it gives me horrid dandruff for some reason, tho my hubby loves the peppermint version of it and the kids use the citrus/orange.
