Are shows better than movies? Or are movies better than shows? Think about all the movies you've seen wherever and however... Then think about all the shows you've seen wherever and however... Think about what makes a movie better than a show... Think about what makes a show better than a movie... You've been thuroughly raised up for this darkest hour come that you would have to make a decision on which is better. You've got till sun down to answer. Show up or be square.
Both are great, but I have seen the better show. Phantom of the Opera in London was truly fantastic. No film bettered the experience, but that's because you really connect with something that is happening right in front of you.
I grew up with a lot of terrible community theater. I vote for the cinema as a whole. I find the camera more engrossing than the over exaggeration of the thespians. Cinema seems real.
Movies. Like iode said I have problems with the exaggerated acting. Movies can be more real or more fantasy than shows. With editing and film techniques there is just so much more that one can do with a film.
Yep, I think movies provide a much wider range of possibilities. They are both great though and both can be adapted to the other. Each have their masterpieces.
In general films are better, I will agree. I forgot to add that bit, I was going to say. I have seen plenty of better films than shows (and i've seen quite a few shows living close to London), but that one show I mentioned just blew my mind with emotion. I think many people have failed to see a good show! Furthermore, there are just so many films to watch, and the accessibility is obviously there.
glad i read the thread, i thought he was asking about tv shows. i agree with the above; stage overacting is annoying as hell, and there are too many limits to what can be done.
Depends on how good they are. theatre can be better, but it's hard to find a good theatre company, as most of them are filled with massive attention whores and faggots (of all kinds)
Wow if that isnt a bit bigoted and generalized.... I guess I should have read the thread. I agree that film is better than stage. However, they are two very different art forms.
how? it's an internet forum. there's not enough time or space to make a comprehensive list of every single member of every single theater company.
