do any of yall feel like ya get hit on or flirted with more cuz of your dreadlocks? cuz i feel like it happens way more then when i had regular hair and alootaa compliments on the hair... just wondering lol..... i think alot of ppl MUST have dreadlock fetishes
I dont think so. But Ive always been oblivious to that kind of stuff anyways....when Glen and I first started hanging out he drove 14 hours out to the grand canyon [where I was living at the time] just to see me....and it never occured to me that he liked me as more than a friend....lol...derf.
I never get hit on but my time in the public is limited to grocery shopping or the mall both times where I am chasing my little guy around (or arguing with my husband).
i can't really make a definitive conclusion as the start of my locks coincided with me moving into a neighborhood where i'm the only white girl. if anything, i think they invite people to start conversations with me. "you trying to get dreads?" i wonder how long i'll have to hear that one...
I tend to get accosted by middle aged women if I go to a pub attended by the general public. (not a girl)
I definitely get hit on more with dreads...it's kind of annoying! Their a conversation starter so I get people calling at me from across the room asking about my hair, the same questions all the time. No one really has dreads around here so their a bit of a novelty and yeah I agree with the dreadlock fetish. I think everyone wants to 'try' get with a dread head!
yes, because like Lux said they are a convo starter. but I also get hit on more now (without)... maybe cause I stopped wearing glasses? I feel prettier now without glasses.
when I had brown hair no one realli noticed the dreads then when I went blonde no one shut up about them! when they were in that awkward stage of not looking like dreads adn just a big mess I think people didn't want to say anything!
I noticed most of the compliments I get are from little kids and old people. The people around my age that compliment me or my hair are all chicks. I dont really get hit on. I know how Zilla feels about the glasses thing though forsure! I usually wear glasses but I stopped because they just feel like they get in the way always sliding down my face. They are really annoying. I feel much better about myself when I dont wear glasses.
Youre in the wrong county then :sifone: I notice a lot more attention from girls because of it, sometimes positive, sometimes just outright insulting Like once I was in the pub and talking to my friend and I felt a slight tugging at the back of my head and I turned around and there was a girl playing with my hair, she went all red and her friend introduced us...a few months later and the three of us have made plans to travel Europe together in August
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Which is kinda strange for me. See, for a lot of black folks, the straighten hair girls were the ones always getting hit on. So with me and my feral dreadies, it's like. "Can I touch them/play with them/can I play with you while I play with them?" and sometimes, for some really, really, really, really strange reason, having dreadlocks must mean I'm lesbian...? *confused face* Like girls hit on me, and it's almost like "Well, you have dreadlocks, so I thought.." *super confused face*
I get that too, girls hit on me more. But I doubt im attracting anyone with these new fuzzy baby dreads.
I love blonde dreadies I find the texture is more noticeable. Like the way it knotts together/clumps is easier to see then on darker hair.
