I know I've been remiss in chiming in lately. I do check in every day to see what's happening though. I spilt my time between the Hip Forums and Facebook. Yeah Cakes, we are fixing up the house to put it on the market and are just about ready to do that. There's a 5-acre place close to here that we are interested in. If everything goes as planned, we'll be country folk again. Hoping to see ya'll soon.

Hey Y'all.. I just tought I would let everyone know that I will regretfully not be able to attend the OCF.

July is the middle of The Season for us farmers. I have to be here to put up what we grow for our food through the winter. We also have a bonafide chicken ranch, state inspected. We raise rhode island reds and dominequers. We average 35 eggs a day which go into the incubator to hatch out, then has to be taken out at hatching and moved to the brooder and the older chicks mover to other chambers. It's a constant cycle as the chicks come off everyday, till cold weather when the hens slow production. When we get 370 chicks we take them to market. Your only allowed to have 400 chickens at one time, 401 can get ya a 1,000$ fine.

The chicks vary in size/age by the time they are all ready for the sale, they bring between 3$ and 10$ apiece according to size. So, we cant afford to leave the farm and there is just too much at stake to leave it for someone else to do.

It's a natural balance of things, electricity goes out and if you dont get a fire built your chicklets die. You have to Do The Work it takes to get the job done.

Farmin' aint easy, growing a garden is Not farming. Your anamils depend on you and them critters are prone to going off the feed if there is changes in their routine.. My hubby Lynn does the feeding and heavy work and them animals are mighty parchall to the man. and turn up their noses at me, except for my cute lil ass Crackerjack, he's a mamas boy and is serverly jelouse of Lynn, espcially when Lynn and me are in the pasture together and he will come between us and put his nose on my shoulder and snort at Lynn and nudges him over with his shoulder. It's too funny to watch.

I dearly long to see you all and to reminice about old times. I would love to feel that energy again. To be in the midsts of our communal family, to look into the eyes and harts in a loving embrace of what we represent.

Altho I cannot attend, it is enough for me to know that I had a small part in bringing together the spirits of yesterday into the now and that the ones that have reunited with the ones they were searching for these past decades have connected.

That is what our little place here is about and it is a success, it brought together The Family once again.

Spud. I am wishing you a speedy transition into The Country Life. Hoping you find your dream place soon and you get a huge amount for your house you are selling. I could not even imagine being anywhere else or living anyother way.

I wish everyone was as happy in their life as I am with mine and what me n hubby has built. We have been doing this for 25 yrs together. We are in unisom and that's what it takes to make it work.

    Bright Blessings ALL

Today is Earth Day. It is a time we take in appreciation of what Mother Earth is. We call her Mother bc she nurishes us, provides our air and water, she gives us everything we need to sustain ourselves. Everything we have is due to Mother's generousity. Our Father, who art in heaven created all things to bless Mother with. He empregnanted her with Life and we sprang forth in it's glory. We are the children of that union.

We are young, our kind are just babies learning what we are and why we have come. In our youthful ignorance we forgot to take care of our Mother, we did not honor her nor did we charish and embrace her. We took and took and we are still taking. We suck out the oils and gases, we dig out the minerals and metals, we fill the air and water with poisons.

We did not replinish what we recived, she suffered and cried out to Father in her pain. Father sent us warnings but we do not heed them but chose to stick with our distructive ways to please our pocket books.

Then came a people from all nations of many colors. They came to tell of the warnings and to heed Father's wishes. They came as they were call into many places. They brought a message for all to know and hear. A message of peace and love, a message of harmony and balance. Working together to bring this message to all people.

A wake up call to be conscious and be aware of what was happing around you and to be part of the solution and not the problem. They came with flowers in their hair. They celebrated Life and Mother. They gathered in the parks and forests to consentrate the power Father gaves them to subdue the earth, which was to bring peace and subdue the negitive force that drove the greedy into the destruction of our planet.

Not all earth people listened and faught the messengers. The powers that be were great in numbers and force. They beat and molested the messengers and stole their children. They put them in prisons and distroyed their families.

The messengers that brought the Honor back, the Love for our Mother and the message of hope and great change were dispersed by the wind and carried them to all four corners of the earth to plant seeds of love and peace by living the message and teaching their children/grand children how to live to honor both Mother and Father.

Today is the time we take, a few minutes of giving back. To clean up your act and remove any toxins that have built up around you. To be positive in energy and loving in manner. Save energy sources, like fuel and electricity.

Stay out of your car and walk if it is possible, turn off the lights, dont waste water, dont Litter or polute the air or water. Get a recyclable bag for groceries and remember to use it. Conserve everywhere you see an oportunity.

Get outside and plant some seeds, plants and trees. Every little bit helps to get the message out. If we cannot do something ourselves then how can we expect others to do anything either.

I am planting flowers today. It will beautify the enviorment and bring bees and feed the birds which are vital to our enviroment. I will list what I plant if y'all will. Even if it is just a few seeds it is worthy and honors our Mother Earth.

Bright Blessings and Celebrations of Love

    Earth Day's 40th Anniversary

    April 22, 2010

Today marks a momentous occasion: the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. Launched in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson, the event encourages communities to get involved in protecting the environment.

Earth Day aligns with the Department of Energy's (DOE's) own mission to provide clean, renewable energy for all. DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) invests in clean energy technologies that work to protect the environment and reduce dependence on foreign oil.

Technological advances are key to ensure a sustainable future. But the path to a clean energy economy requires individual participation. Full story

Happy's dad (Gaylord Nelson) started Earth Day!

    Nails;
I’m playing piano, singing and litigating - making people laugh with all three of those activities. Been on the phone with Mouse Leo Ron and Sag Darel The feeling that I get from being back in touch with my brothers is indescribable.
I just got confirmation that I have a squamus cell carcinoma in my mouth. Prognosis good but, with no insurance, financially disastrous. Docs are being nice and cutting fees.butI may have to do an internet benefit appeal.
..I'm trying not to let this take over my life.
Had a petctscan yesterday and will get results on Tuesday. Radiation should start after Thursday. Hoping to avoid surgery cause it involves my "golden" tongue. Somebody asked me if it was from smoking and I said "God I hope so - cause if it was caused by my going downtown I’m screwed". Smoking I can stop (and have stopped). I don't want this to stop me from getting out west this summer I’ll be much obliged for your energies and prayers.
    love

I'm sitting here in Gateway Mall writing on my new laptop all due to brothers and sisters most of whom I haven't seen in 30/35 years or so! I'm so blown away! Who says we aren't a strong family still! As one who stayed in SF till 5 years or so ago I can tell you Church of the Good Earth is yet remembered by those in the city who were there at the time.
I'll be at the swap meet the next two days and I'm not sure if I can get wi-fi there, if not I'll be back on Monday.
Again, Thank you one ans all!, Ranger
