I have a load of 38ml bottles of rum flavouring that list ethanol as their main ingredient, followed by water and then 'flavourings'. Trouble is i want to work out a rough guess of the alcohol content of the rum flavouring but have no means to do so. I was thinking maybe weighing out the flavouring at 4°C and comparing it to 38ml of pure water at 4°C (which would weigh 38g), then i know weight for weight how much of it isn't water, and i can't imagine the flavourings weigh much. Also, alcoholic beverages are measured v/v not w/w, so i would have to convert it, knowing that 1ml of ethanol weighs 0.789g. Any thoughts/ideas, guys?
What ever floats you're boat dude though personally I would just check the back of the bottle one last time
woah woah woah, i never said i was gunna drink it, so don't be so quick to judge. It's for making alkaloid extracts and such, it's the highest proof alcohol that's easily available.
lol, okay then. I thought you were the young version of that creepy dude who comes into grocery stores to drink vanilla extract.
