http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/36791568#36791568 This bill finally deserves its own thread. Now supporters claim the bill isn't racist, let's see what its own introducer has to say on race, in an email once sent to supporters he accused the media of pushing a view that ..."a world in which every voice proclaims the equality of races, the inerrant nature of the Jewish "Holocaust" tale the wickedness of trying to halt the flood of non white aliens pouring across our border...." He also hugs neo-nazis. Also, check out the governor of Arizona dodge the question of what an illegal immigrant looks like. Nope, not racist at all. Watch the whole video though, wait until it gets to the lawyer for FAIR who helped write the good deal of the bill eugenics and the author of the bill getting money from a group trying to genetically prove the superiority of whites!!!! Please, everyone, show everyone you know that video/quote. DO IT!
G.O.P. candidate offers up alternative to bill, microchip illegal immigrants http://gazetteonline.com/breaking-n...-on-immigration Third District GOP congressional hopefuls called for more R&D on illegal immigration – as in round-up and deport. Speaking at a Tama County Republican forum Monday, six candidates for the GOP nomination to face seven –term Democratic Rep. Leonard Boswell opposed amnesty for illegal aliens and called for tougher enforcement of border security. “I think we should catch ’em, we should document ’em, make sure we know where they are and where they are going,” said Pat Bertroche, an Urbandale physician. “I actually support micro-chipping them. I can micro-chip my dog so I can find it. Why can’t I micro-chip an illegal? “That’s not a popular thing to say, but it’s a lot cheaper than building a fence they can tunnel under,” Bertroche said.
Actually no things are still looking quite bad for the Dems come mid-terms. Harry Reid for example is near certain to lose his seat. It just comes down to who votes and Gallop has shown Republicans are still nearly twice as likely and much more enthusiastic to vote.
Eh, the Republicans have actually been slightly ahead in opinion polls for the house. The thing is the Republicans even when they win are generally never ahead, in fact the last time that happened was in their sweeping of the house in 1994. Don't underestimate them, they'll vote, Dems won't because they're not angry.
Which it is, people on the left are more likely to spread their news sources out, especially online, but even when just TV stations are taking into account there's a divide. FOX news does in fact by far draw the most amount of viewers and it has been growing dramatically. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/30/business/media/30cnn.html
I like to thing of myself as very liberal, however one thing this country does not need right now are illegal immigrants living within our borders. The economy is bad enough as it is, we don't need to make it worse by increasing unemployment and raising taxes to fund the government programs which these immigrants will surely use. That said, this bill is mightily fucked up. Sometimes, people arrive at decisions such as this one, and I just have to ask "what the fuck was the thought process here?"
he's a no-good illogical son of a bitch. even tom tancredo, while being extremely conservative including on matters of immigration, disagrees with him on this point.
I can think of tons of things this country does not need right now. illegal immigrants are definitely not at the top of the list.
The latest "real" news is: many illegal immigrants are going back home since the economy crashed and they can't find jobs. Please list some of the "government programs" that illegal aliens use. They don't qualify for any of the social programs in the U.S. and if they use a fake S.S. number they are paying into S.S. and Medicare that they will never use. . .
Where does eugenics come in? It's interesting that this bill creates no new law -- it's a mirror of federal law that is not being enforced: http://janbrewer.com/email/email.php?ID=51
Eugenics comes in with the pioneer fund who heavily support FAIR who's lawyer helped write the good deal of this bill. And yes, the bill does create a new law in the fact it now gives police power to use "reasonable suspicion" to ask a person they deem might be an illegal immigrant to show ID. i.e. if you look brown don't go to Arizona. On top of that is basically requires U.S. citizens to carry ID which has already been ruled constitutional.
I have a good friend called Sam who went out with an Ella...needless to say the amount of piss taking we did Anyway..on with yer thread.
This actually one time when wikipedia sums up things quite nicely: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_fund#Early_history
