hahaha It's easy to tell if they like it or not. My cousin's dog used to get as close as possible whenever we were smoking, because she loved marijuana. I'd known a few dogs like this, and even some cats. lol Other dogs just walk away and it's obvious that they don't like it. It's not that difficult to understand.
I have seen this thread so many times... I think its wrong honestly... simply because its a dog. A dog does not have the same perception or consciousness that a human has, sure we perceive a somewhat relevant world to a somewhat enough of an extent to live together, but mind altering substances? Really?any idea the effect it could have? How is giving drugs to a dog any different than giving drugs to a 'human' with down syndrome/ other mental illness? I am not implying dogs are retarded, i am stating that they are not a average healthy human being, the effects could not be that of an average human being, and therefor simply someone not saying no or stop should not be a sure go ahead to do what ever... For all you know, the dog may simply trust you too much to back off or runaway. Maybe it just wants to spend some time with you, maybe it can tell something is off and their sense of protection kicks in leading to them not moving away... and in the process of this loophole filled, somewhat flawed post, mild reference of an incredible film : dead mans shoes. Also i must remind i was pro' kitty fingerbang when there was a thread about a suffering cat ... Fuck knows the possible mental alterations involved
I don't like getting my animals high but my brother and his friend have been getting my mom's cat high and she really likes it... it seems............
Good points, but all I know is that my cousin's dog got high basically everyday for many many many years and lived to be 13-14 years old. Didn't seem to have any negative effects on her body or mind.
I don't get the "your animal can't consent!!! WAAA!" crowd. You're right, it didn't make the choice to get high. But the fact is, I don't feel bad about taking that choice from an animal to introduce it to weed for the first time.... If your animal hates it, and you won't stop blowing smoke at it, that's fucked up, but "it didn't tell you it wants to get high" just doesn't fly with me. There's no way the animal could know if it wants to get high or not at first, and I'm frankly NOT worried that getting my animals blazed is in any way cruel. Sure, they didn't choose it, nor did they choose to be silly looking domesticated balls of furry uselessness, nor did they choose how much I feed them, or any other number of variables about their life. If I'm taking care of an animal, I will see to it that it's properly cared for, but it's NOT a great move from there to share my pot with it.
It all depends on whether you think dogs (or any other animals) are conscious beings. I think that they are. I think my dog was able to make the conscious decision that he doesn't like weed. He used to be pretty curious when I was smoking so I let him try it a few times and he never seemed to like it, and so I don't smoke with him anymore. He tried it, didn't like it, and now he just ignores it when I'm smoking. But my friend did the same thing with his dog and his dog loved it. This dog comes running as soon as he smells the bowl being packed and he affectionately follows the bowl around the circle until he is sufficiently high. Then he goes and lies down and enjoys his high.
this thread reminded me of this commercial hah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgJdVEoVbgg"]YouTube- "Dog"
My boyfriends snake gets so mad when we don't toke with him, he is pretty awesome. We put him in a box close it and then stick a tube into the box, blow the smoke in and then after were done we open the box, smoke bellows out and the snake will pop his head out and look around then go back into his box =) I am very sure he enjoys it.
