to make the next day of your life the happiest? Is happiness accumulative? If not can some moment be one's "the happiest so far"? How often do we compare our happiness to others' and decide?
i dont compare my happiness to others. that is silly. i just take every day and every moment as it is and try to enjoy it.
Then how about this? Americans are asked if they'd like to earn 100.000 dollars per month where everybody earns 300.000 or earn 50.000 dollars where everyone else is earning 10.000. Most of them chose the latter. I read this in the book "How Much Is Enough" by Alan Durning, the numbers are wrong but the proportion is correct. Americans are way richer than they were back in the 50s. But surveys show that they are far less happier then they were. Do you consider yourself a lucky person compared to others? If we dont compare ourselves with others, how can we know how happy are we compared to the rest of the society and thus feel lucky or miserable? Maybe it’s totaly irrational to compare our luckiness to people’s social standings? Because everyone has an innder world.
i do know that the value of the dollar is less today then it was in 1970. i also know that i do not compare my happiness to anyone else's. it's not something that can be compared.
happiness is being in the moment and the now for me. so i cant compare one moment to another since as i am truly living each one...the others arent in my mind. so to me happiness is now...when you can find it and be in it.
