If you read it again you might see it's the "we" that generalises, not the "can be".

But, I was only pointing out generalisations and stereotypes. It's one thing I don't like. It's not big deal.

I don't mean anything by it, just when I see something, I have to pick up on it. I'm like that a lot with grammar and spelling; it's a curse, but one I'm stuck with
