First of all I have been trying, to dread it. I did the other day but it seemed like, it wasn't coming out right at all. I dunno' I tried backcombing and palm rolling, and it just didn't seem right to me. But I WAS using a plastic comb...so that could have been the issue, and maybe they weren't getting tight enough. I dunno'. Or maybe my hair isn't long enough....Here's a picture of me, can you guys tell me if my hair is right length or anything for dreads please? Thanks. [IMG]

Your hair is long enough, plastic combs..is it one of the ones that spaces out gradually? you should use one the fleacombs or whatevs from the pet shops, dreads take time to form, they wont knot up and most likely will end up unraveling, its just what they do, backcombed dreads (depending on the individual) don;t end up taking shape until about 3 months (that's when you'll notice that they are starting to, not that they will be dreads). It's all time yo, use the search button to check out some backcombing techniques, there's also a thread on the main page by Natural Philosphy that will answer a lot of questions and help you along the journey, check it out.

if you can't get backcombing to "work" you can always try twist n rip or natural/neglect.

That is a fine length for dreads ^^ Using a plastic comb won't do much for backcombing. You need a metal comb with tight teeth, like fea combs for pets (obv not a used one..). They *Will* fall out, no matter how tight you try to get them. Well, other people's may not have but the majority do, and they bounce back at about 3 months. You won't see any proper progress untill 6 to 8months, so do be patient :) Good luck ^^
