I saw it just yesterday and I loved it. It's not an absolute drama while it's not a typical Hollywood fairytale either. It simply shows what life is like to most people: a never-ending spiral of ups and downs. Obstacles we have to climb in order to go on, being these easier when we have (and reciprocate) the love of the ones that are important to us. The movie's OST is wonderful, too. I loved the Michael Penn's song Trestling, but I'm yet to find it on the internet
Yeah that's a great movie. Movies are always more realistic when there's a sort of mix of comedy and drama. I don't mean to sound like an advertisement or anything but for anyone who hasn't seen it, if you liked Little Miss Sunshine, you might like this movie. It was made by some of the same people and it's got kind of a similar feel to it.
Yeah, I had read that on the internet, too, so I also downloaded Little Miss Sunshine. Gonna watch it soon!
I saw it in theater and liked it. Here's my take on it at that time: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=357462&highlight=sunshine+cleaning&f=287 Just got the DVD this weekend - it was in the 5 for $20 bin at Blockbuster. Will enjoy seeing it again.
