ok, so they stock tampons in Boots chemists which are in most major(touristed) cities and beach resorts, but they don't stock them in Tesco's, Carrefour's, Big C or any other supermarket chain I've visited. In fact, when I first came here I remember explaining to some Thai university girls what tampons were and wha they were used for after a visiting foreigner had left some in a box in one of their dorm rooms. They had neither seen nor heard of them in their entire lives. One of the packs that my girlfriend recently bought when we were in Chiang Mai (she got 6 months supply by clearing out 4 different Boot's chemists of all their stocks) had a note from the company inside explaining how using tampons would not affect your virginity. edit: She's also a superfit Muay Thai boxer who has a regular period.
i'm pretty sure hippies didn't have hippie cups. mostly because i was there and this is the first i hear the term.
i dunno, they had them in Udon Thani and Ubon, but there were big air bases at one time, so maybe they just caught on....
Because they call them MoonCups and DivaCups, I\ve coined the phrase HippieCups myself. I live in Ubon. I've been here for 4 years. I'll have to persuade the woman that she's going blind.
We got them through the hotel we were staying at.. i don't remember the brand or any of that, it was 5 years ago....
i knew i wasn't going to need them, apparently my g/f missed the part in the traveling brochure that said they weren't readily available
