"Born to Buy: The Commercialized Child and the New Consumer Culture" by Juliet B Schor.

I am not a parent, haven't read it, but continue to read reviews about this book in numerous publications and have seen the author speak on CNN concerning what truly are some scary trends in how children now percieve success and what they 'need' to be happy.

hopefully it will contain some ideas on how to combat the corporate brainwash (other than the obvious, no tv, no media toys, blah blah blah). this is an issue that i'm really concerned about.

I haven't read that one. I did read "I'm okay, your a brat" by Susan Jeffers. It was a very informative book.

I will have to look for that one. Thanks for the tip. :)
