I'm from Buffalo, NY. I'm an author. I'm an activist. I'm a rapper in an awesome band called BloodThirsty Vegans that raps about peace love and unity. I am a Unitarian Universalist and an Athiest, that means I go to church but don't believe in an intelligent designer of the world/universe. I have been a vegetarian for 16 years. I have been polyamorous for 6 years. I consider myself a student of freedomology but I don't use mind altering chemicals to get there. The most intense freedom I have felt has been through dancing, nature, sexual expression, helping others, and rapping about peace love and unity.
welcome haha an atheist unitarian universalist, you and my mom would get along welcome to the forums you sound interesting
There are many atheist Unitarian Universalists at my church. And throughout the whole UUA I think. At least that's been my experience. There are far more theists but, still, I feel quite welcome there.
i wasn't denying that at all, and she is completely welcome there, i'm just saying it's rare that outside my home congregation to find UU's. i'm more of a pantheistic UU, but that may not be it exactly, i'm still not quite sure
Well, you only have the rest of your life to figure it out. re: BloodThirsty Vegans... it is a band name that fits us really well. Though, admittedly, none of us are actually vegan.
Back in the 90s I used to design and code video games I produced my own monthly comic book for over three years Among the 5ish books that I've written were two novels that each made it to the top of the cafepress fiction list. I drew all of these pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/45410602@N04/sets/72157622838031147/
My band and I just came out with a new CD and a new music video. I'm not sure how I feel about being all over the internet in my bathrobe, but nobody MADE me do it I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEyCxEM4dDw"]YouTube- BloodThirsty Vegans - Do You Even Know

Thanks. I almost always rock over live musicians though so I seldom need beats. I would be interested in taking a listen to some just for fun though.
Well hello fellow Buffalonian, welcome. I will have to keep an eye out for your band although I dont go out much these days. Not sure what an Unitarian Universalists is but whatever gets you through the day.
Thank you. Unitarian Universalists are basicall folks who decide to go to a common congregation even though they don't follow a common religion --or as in my case, any religion at all-- so basically people of any faith (or lack thereof) are invited to come make meaning together on Sundays. As an atheist, I rather appreciate the opportunity to have a church. more info on the UUA more info on our band
I just realized there a video section too..I'm pretty sure you're allowed to post your music videos there http://www.hipforums.com/viewcategory.php?moduleid=44
awesome! i like the vid i have a friend who can spit like crazzy lol his lyrics are no sort of hippie type though he tried to have me help but i cldnt come up with gansta shit, just hippie shit lol im so happy you posted! I've always had a slight confusion w/ religion, not religion rly, but w/ church, i dont go to church b/c most are set in their views, even non denominational, and it just... doesnt fit me my dad grew up as a jehova witness and he went through alot of confusion in life, so when i was young i went to a few diff types of churches and he always encouraged me to be spiritual but find my own spirituality a UU congregation may be exactly what i need to look into
