With enough crude oil to fuel a small nation heading for the Gulf Coast, should President Obama reassess his recent decision to open more areas for more drilling? I'll have some crude with those shrimp, please; and make sure the duck is properly blackened. .
There is already a new statement pertaining to that: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?p=6313119#post6313119
You'd think those geniuses would have had a fool-proof backup system for a worst case scenario. I guess it's a pretty good idea to keep drilling--if we don't need the oceans anymore. Or sea food. There's always cake.
Drill Baby Drill. You know, they are never going to get that wellhead capped. Right now no one is even trying to.
I am still surprised that some people do not realize there is a fucking oil volcano going off! I talked to few people in my neighborhood today and they were like "what oil explosion?". I have some uninformed people im my neck of the woods.
Until the popular mode of transportation does not require fossil fuels then I would say that it will boil down to supply and demand. If the price of gas does not influence how people transport themselves and their goods and those prices are still paid by the consumer then they will contiune to drill if we care or not. This accident will only set new standards for how new oil wells are drilled and controled. Once this whole thing blows over or Obama gets elected again so he does not have to worry about what people think then it will continue. Just how things are done right now.
You might have a different opinion if you lived on the Gulf Coast. or Are you one of those big SUV owners who is going to have to have the steering wheel of your gas guzzler pried out of your cold dead oil encrusted hands? .
