I was hoping for this to come through.. a brother was trying to get me to do some scouting with someone for a few NC spots near the end of 09'.. that was while I was still on the west coast though.. word on the land.. but who'd you hear this from? I'm being lazy tonight, don't wanna look up the welcomehere and such on my cracked monitor.. NC is beautiful.. I was doing a lot of lookin' around that area for a while. Specially around Black Mountains... hmmm, if so.. guess it's time for the great disappearing act to come into play.
Anyone have any idea when they will release the location? I wanna hit seed camp this year and get into the woods asap. BTW Vermont and New Hampshire are pretty beautiful too! They are right next door to NY where I am too!
PA would be nice! I would be happy with VT or NH. NC would be about a 10 hour drive if it is near Asheville.
I was thinking about where the Nationals had been and decided to make a quick map of it: Here you go:
NE as in new england. also,,, june 5th is spring council,,, so it's still not decided. For your info if you have never been,, it wont be decided till then kidz. welcomehome . org it will be posted hopfuly by the 10th of june, so plane tickets, bus, hitch, rails, drive, ride with, can hit it early enough to be home for the gathering. July 1-7 is our actuall week. Of course dedicated folks are at it early, and clean-up is after ,, please carry out what you bring in,, clean-up is ALWAYS in my opinion,,, but ya'll seasoned gatherers know what I mean. Thanks, had to clarify/ Much lovins,
Thanks Bumble. I sure would like that alot. It is such a beautiful state,, and no state sales tax either! More human to mentally ill folks,,, NC still has arcane laws in effect , and that has bothered me alot. Your always a sweetie here, I hope to see ya this year! Blessings!
and $4 bottles of wine! I know we always try to "pack 'em in...pack 'em out", but sometimes one or two do get left behind. "Arcane laws", as in anti-witchcraft laws? SRSLY?
Just received a message from a bro of mine, who has been behaving scoutishly, reminding me that the weather is just now now becomming tolerable to scout New England. Folks may have been looking at TN/NC a lot in the past few weeks, but that's because it's the only place they can.
With two months away.. I hope they make a decision soon. Hitching out towards NC in two weeks, sit in Asheville and do some prospecting while waiting for the word. Weather though.. every time I get prepared to leave I see a storm going on in around those area's. I'm itching to escape to the woods for some shenanigans. I missed all the south gatherings due to catching up with people on my return to the south.. plus I didn't want to fancy another Ocala, sugar sand and no rocks..
I hope so too. I am hoping to be part of seedcamp this year, and get in the woods asap. Its nice to help out, it makes the gathering more rewarding. My friend moved to Asheville he says its awesome and I have seen some videos of the drum circle there and its pretty sweet. If I ever relocate, I need some warmer weather (im in NY state) and a nice size weekly drum circle. I also have a fondness for southerners, they seem more relaxed then NYers.
NC is a beautiful place.. I've been through various parts of it through my years. Asheville... ahh, yeah, it's a chill city to some degree, one of the better ones on the east-coast if you like the happening things. My partner is from there too, so there adds to be a few reasons I'm hoping it near there. Drum circle is a bit better organized then most places too.. though, still.. the Florida Drum Tribe are the best of east-coasters. Yeah.. I'm a drum snob cause of growin' up with those kids. As for seed camp, I like getting the head start on scouting the area, foraging, looking for minerals, choppin' up stuff and setting structures in. I had a blast showin' a bunch of kids all the different herbs and rocks around in NM last year.. and what could be found with an extra pair('s) of eyes. One of the kids in my group even found a nappy dollar bill... 'bout a mile uphill from camp, and only around 75-100 people where there at that time too. Talk about weird luck. This year I plan on being there from start to end.. last year I had too many whiners in the van that wanted to leave. This year.. no van... so no whiners.
