Not sure if I'm allowed to post this here or not. Forum rules didn't say one way or another.

I've rescued a pit bull from a local dog pound. She doesn't like my lifestyle (I work away from home 8-10 hours a day). I think she would be happiest on the road with someone, or able to hang out with people all day long. She doesn't like to be left alone and will cry and bark when I have to leave her alone.

She'd also do best as a only dog, because she wants all the attention to herself. She doesn't like other dogs, and she considers small animals to be food.

Just wanted to try and find a place for her where she could be happy.

Here is a picture of her:

How nice of you to help this dog. I hope she finds a good home, people. Doesnt like other dogs,,, eats small critters,,, sounds like a good woods dog. Wouldnt do on a farm though.
    Good luck to ya both.

a travelling road dog needs to be well-socialized in many different situations . that Loki ain't one . that Loki is in a tough situation . all i could imagine doing for Loki is give her a dominating poodle , and i hope you all be a family where you is happy .

There are ways to re-teach your dog the way to interact with other dogs. I just was watching a show called 'paroles and pitbulls' and a women who had a rescued pitbull was having the same exact issues. The trainer showed the women how to help teach the pit how to interact. She also said it would take time. She said to bring the dog as much as possible to be around the other dogs, under the controlled circumstances.

I bet if you look around the internet you could find plenty of information on this. I know there are a lot of people with dogs who need to re-learn.

Dont buy into the myth 'you cant teach an old dog new tricks'. It is not true in my opinion. People are often too lazy to change, and it is alot easier to float downstream than it is to swim upstream. So people will use that blanket statement for many circumstances where it does not apply. I hear my brothers use it concerning our parents, but I know differently.

If you wanna re-train your dog, with a little knowledge and patience, you probably can.

My dog used to cry when I would leave it alone too. But eventually it stopped. You could probably get some info about that too.

Thanks for taking in a rescue dog, if I ever got another dog, it would be a rescue dog. That is a mighty kind thing to do.
