I have a box of the U by Kotex I have to wait to try them, but I'm hoping they're as awesome as the commercial has portrayed them to be.
Haven't got them over this neck of the woods yet. Just looked them up online though, they seem to be pretty standard. What's the deal?
I did a paper on these commercials, analyzing the portrayal of men in them. I found that in general two types of men are portrayed; 1) the sex object, super hunky alpha male, and 2) the blundering incompetent oafish boyfriend. watch them all on youtube its true i swear funny commercials
I bought some the last time I had my period. They're really cute, and they come in small compact brightly colored paper. But I think I'd rather have the Pearls on the protection side.
The cotton and bleaching they use for pads and tampons in incredibly damaging to the environment and is not very good for your body! Try this, they're amazing and actually give a shit about the earth and the people on it - http://www.natracare.com/products/the_natural_choice.htm
The commercials crack me up, but I haven't tried them yet. I wouldn't pay for them, probably, but they are (or were) offering a free sample on their website.
I haven't seen anything on the commercials that provides any information as to how these are different than any other tampons or pads. I ordered a free sample and I'll try them and see what's so great about them. I use a menstrual cup now, but when I used tampons, the only brand I would use was Kotex because it had that little shelf on the end of the applicator and it made it very easy to insert the tampons. I never could use the ones with just a little ridgy spot or nothing at all.
I have to same problem if it doesn't have someway for me to completely grip it, then its harder to insert without inserting the applicator. I don't need a gyno appointment because of an applicator. But the U by Kotex seems like it would work fine.
I buy them (pads) for my first aid kit, they are the most sterile and easily used product available for a pressure bandage. I personally no longer need feminine products. Thankfully!
I keep wanting to like those, but they are just really uncomfortable and always leak. And the pads make a rustling sound when you walk. I just got some U by Kotex to try out... for heavy days none of the natural methods work for me, but on the light days I like Moonpads.
