Shouldn't gays and lesbians be attracted to one another?

Ok, I know it sounds weird, but give me a chance to explain. This is my own whack theory that explains how gays and lesbians should at least be psychologically attracted to one another.

Okay, think of a straight man as +, or positive.

Now think of a straight woman as -, or negative.

When you get a + man, and a - woman, you have sexual attraction. Like a magnet.

Now lets throw homosexuality into the equation:

Lets say a man decides hes gay, so well change his polarity to a negative, or -.

This change in polarity causes him to repel the straight womans negativity and be attracted to a mans positivity, again, like a magnet.

Now lets say you have a lesbian who changes her orientation from - to +, causing her to repel the positive men and be attracted to negative women.

NOW lets say you have a gay man (-) and a lesbian woman (+).

Shouldn't these people be attracted to one another through some weird fucking psychological law of attraction? Their polarities are different, and therefore again, like magnets, they should attract.

My thinking behind this is that the gay man is attracted to the masculine characteristics exhibited in the lesbian, and at the same time the lesbian is attracted to the feminine characteristics exhibited in the gay guy.

So I guess this makes them gay and straight at the same time?

Lol, it would be even funnier if they then both got a sex change operation and then had sex like normal people.

    Definetly a mind fukkity fuck.

    Here is your flaw.
You have already attributed negative (-) as the affiliation of a woman.
A gay man is not a woman, he is still a man, so therefor his attribution according to your system would still be positive (+). Just in this case, positive attracted to positive.

Just one problem: Human sexuality has nothing to do with magnetism whatsoever, in causes OR effects.

Quite the 'interesting' theory you have there... women who like women, should like men who like men, even though they don't like men...

I think you should stay away from a logic based career path... politics though... that type of twisted logic is the mainstay ;)

    *sigh*

All the positive and negative talk in the world doesn't change the fact that gay men like cock, and not pussy. No cock, no like. Dig?

    Who says they arent?

When you lot talk like this its very confusing to us, makes it all sound (from our perspective) like you are stupid

Shouldn't straight guys at least be psychologically attracted to one another? ....Cos none of them have best friends, none of them are going to have any interest in anyone else unless they have a vagina and of course they all want to fuck anything that has a vagina, and thats all they are interested in

    See?

Well gay can be used both as an umbrella term as in the gay community or as a term for men specially as in gay and lesbian people are members of the queer community.

I think discerning lesbians might be more offended by the use of the negative for them rather than the positive and what that implies...in fact that might be a little offensive to all women when you think it through.

    I don't think this is a flaw.

The positive and negative symbols represent sexual orientation, not weather or not they are physically male or female.

There are all sorts of generalizations in this thread that could offend all sorts of different people...

    You can't generalize anything about what a person may or may not choose... just look at this comment as an example;

This is not necessarily true... There are some who like cock just fine, they just don't like what it's attached to... in others, they like what it's attached to, but not the cock itself...

Same goes for all the issues being hit upon in here... the basic premise of generalizing all people based solely on their sexual orientation label is basically denying that people are individuals...

As a woman (and part time lesbian), I don't find the "negative" connotation offensive. An opposite is just as needed and "positive" as a negative is.

An amended hiccup. Lesbians aren't real, they are just made up to scare children.

I think you may have over thought this... and it's entirely possible that the thoughts that traverse the highway that is your mind would benefit from more streetlights.... and maps... and detour signs warning of roads washed out by floods, and one way streets... and just maybe a construction project or two.

I hardly think that sexuality is something we "decide" on one day... it is hard wiring that is dealt to us that we must live with. The premise of your most interesting theory seems terminally perforated and could use a rethink- a task you'd be well advised to outsource.

First off, saying that a gay man changes from + to - so that he can be attracted to men indicates he's only attracted to straight men. With your logic, this also means that straight men are attracted to gay men and straight women.

Also, basically, you're saying a gay man becomes a woman, and a lesbian becomes a man, and thus the man and woman should naturally desire to boink each other.

Quite frankly, if you're trying to simplify universal attraction to a binary set, the only shot you'll get at that is "Likes women" and "Likes men". And even there are people who don't fit into either category.
