Rites of Spring were one of the first bands to be called "emo". You NEED to listen to them if you like any kinds of underground music. The album "End on End" was a classic, seriously..

 

I honestly would like to know why we as a human race can't just get along when it comes to subcultural differences. The ''scene'' fad is just a fashion statement, nothing more. Emo is just a music genre, nothing more. It's just that simple. I don't like this new ''scene'' shit either, but there's absolutely no point in criticizing someone about the way they choose to dress, especially if they don't give a rat's ass what you think.
