well, I don't know what a "bust" station is, but if you want to get to "the heart", the easiest way is to find one of two landmarks: 1) Centraal Station (just north of the RL district, and the northern most part of Amsterdam Central; 2) Dam Square. The center of town, you can go in any direction from there and find great things to do (hostels and other such things) If you can locate Handboog straat, you will find Dampkring Coffee shop, and they will have the purple you crave. Do yourself a favor and download a map from the internets before you leave, that way you'll have a map when you get there common sense, BOY!!!! You can also find hostels up near the centraal station
