so is anybody else concerned with the direction the USA is heading?

Maybe taking a good look at the people sent to run things is in order... how they specifically come by their decision to vote- what voices outside their constituencies are influencing their decision making. More regular folks need to be stirred to life before newer crises, engineered or otherwise, are used as a pretext toward government intrusions into more sectors of the economy without openly decipherable explanation as to how that intrusion takes place.

I've seen less and less coming from the federal government that reflects any concern for the taxpayer beyond the lip service used to patronize and pander. Both parties have shown a willingness to rule against popular will and there's nothing I see that suggests that will change any time soon. The only thing left is to see how long it'll take before middle America reaches the point where it's no longer willing to take bullshit and arrogance the congress has grown so adept at dishing out.

It's campaign time... watch the ads to gauge how stupid office hopefuls take us to be... look at what they feel is going to sway a vote and ask yourself- is this candidate taking me seriously? Is the message aimed at the core issues or does the rhetoric seem calculated to resonate with someone who's been swayed by partisan propaganda based on half-truths?

The country is going to hell in a handbasket and most will likely not wake up until it's too late... until a simmering economic apocalyptic crisis "forces" the government to regulate/ration personal income and spending and otherwise take away even the illusion that personal prosperity and freedom is within reach. We, the money garden will need to be picked clean first.

I would be encouraged by this if it weren't apparent that so many actually believe that substantive change will occur as the result of electing new party-endorsed (and likely wit corporate connections) running for their very first term in Washington, D.C. on the campaign pledge to "clean up Washington". Transparent pandering to a population that conversely has given no real reason to be taken seriously.
