The original "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." Funnily more in adulthood than childhood. Peace Out, Rev J
The Pianist. The only other movie that ever moved me more deeply than this was The Mission. They both made me think.
schindler's list. seen it in the theater and cried and cried.. people were staring.. why the fuck we they not crying? holy fuck, that's a sad movie. never could bring myself to watch it again. i don't like sad movies.
Most recently: Avatar. Tears were welling up first when Jake was taken into the clan (very emotional moment, and that picture of the whole tribe touching him and each other in the process is a very hippie and rainbow moment, too: ) From that moment on, the emotional rollercoaster was picking up speed, and I felt tears flowing down my cheeks on watching RDA bulldozers crush the Tree of Voices, and Neytiri's reaction to it: And what really made me cry was the whole set of scenes leading to the destruction of the Omaticaya hometree, as soon as Quaritch ordered the gas grenades to be shot into the tree to drive the people - including little children - out of it until the moments when Neytiri mourns her father. I wasn't ashamed at all to let those tears fall while sitting in a movie theatre (and I heard some sniffling and sobbing all around me, too... I wasn't alone in doing so). And with the DVD, it was even more intense to let go and cry at these moments. I am Sam - very inspiring Oh Lion King, Land Before time made me sad but not cry Mostly movies that made me cry are those too overwhelming with success and sadness oh well, i always follow it with comedy movies hehehe to lighten the mood with the like of "Get Him to the Greek" can't totally wait to watch this movie
It was such a gut wrenching film for me. I knew it would be. I sat down with my best girl friend as a film rental at home, both of us agreeing, it was important to watch once and never again. We were right. We ended up crying in each other's arms. I cannot imagine that others would not cry. I think what got me was this was a representation of real human suffering. People lived through or died from such utter cruelty at the hands of other "human" beings. The girl in the red coat was the worst. Titanic makes me cry for the same reason. Real people died in that manner. I have seen it more than once, but not in several years because I'm not up to reliving the end. Other films that make me cry: Steel Magnolias and Terms of Endearment, because I'm a mom and I can't imagine anything worse than outliving your child. Any film with animals at the subject. They always suffer in some way. They are lost, hurt, mistreated or die. So no "Old Yeller", "Turner and Hooch", or even "Bambi" and "Dumbo". So anyone reading this can rightfully assume, I'm basically a wimp.
Nobody has mentioned The Sound of Music yet. Well it's an old one, but then so am I. And yeah, Schindler's List and Titanic - I own a copy of both of those. Hell, the tears just kept streaming down my face at the end of Titanic - I think that's the worst one I've ever watched for crying. Of course I had downed a sizable number of beers by that point - that might have had something to do with it. Oh and speaking of ancient tear-jerkers, how about West Side Story? You kids need to see that one for a good cry if you never have. The Color Purple. The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The Green Mile. I'm probably forgetting some... Well hell, I just like to cry. Obviously I am not a manly man.
Simon Birch made me cry bigtime.Bad part is,my wife made me watch it just cuz she knew it would lol.Cold mountain made me cry & mad at the same time.I was crying, jumping up & down yelling at the tv lol(hey,I'm a cancer, cut me some slack lol).Nicole kidman aint much to look at,but for all that dude went thru,he should've at least got to hit it more than once.Although I've never read it,from my understanding,he goes thru like twice as much shit in the book just to get with her..
Ohhhhhhhhhhh!! Someone else who cried over The Sound Of Music! I'm not alone! I always weep during that. I'd forgotten about West Side Story, The Color Purple and The Green Mile as well. Kleenex is a must when I watch those films.
Forrest Gump - The end when Jenny dies and hes at her grave.. Cast Away - When Tom Hanks loses his volleyball friend in the ocean and try to go after him.
Well, thinking about The Sound of Music, I remember something from Julie Andrews which brings tears of laughter to my eyes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjSjB-3xPVM"]YouTube- The Muppet Show - Julie Andrews This was way before Gwen Stefani used "The Lonely Goatherd" to make something different. I didn't cry in Titanic, but I cried watching the pokemon movie... Apparently, my emotions have strange priorities.
