I need some serious cheering up. I have spent the last hour or two coaxing someone to not kill themselves. and now I am at my wits end, it doesnt help that I feel like shit myself, but I always feel better after helping someone, and I dont today. I have found resources for this person, and nothing is helping. I don't and can not lose another person, after 2 friends oded over the weekend, this isn't helping my chronic depression. Someone post something cheerful. Or just lie to me, and tell me it will be ok.

I don't mean to insult you or your friend in any way. But are you SURE that they are actually suicidal? The reason I ask this is because I had a friend who used to always be "depressed" and talking about suicide etc. But she was just looking for people to treat her special all the time and always tell her how great she was. Actually, come to think of it, I know a few people who did this. It had me messed up at times because I believed in all of it, I had to talk to a psychiatrist about it, and she told me that a lot of insecure people do this, it's called "emotional blackmail" and people who do it normally want something, even if they won't tell you what they want directly. The people I know who did this always seemed genuine, even had stupid cuts on their arms which they "tried to hide" but were always obvious and just there as part of their ruse. Be careful not to fall into this kind of trap, seriously evaluate your friend before you get yourself worked up about it.
no I am positive this person is suicidal!!! I ampretty dang sure. but yep I have had a few friends do that, but after my friend committed suicide in 05, I take everything seriously just in case. I would rather be an fool than lose an friend.
Wow that is really helpful!! NOt, I dont know maybe bc most of my friends are suffering thruogh bad financial troubles. most lost their homes, their cars, everything. Some of them are barely getting by. That can make people lose their minds. Why do you comment if you are just being an dick about things.
It's interesting that you assumed I'm being a dick. I've had lots of suicidal thoughts. More than I'd care to comment on here. I know what hardship is like, and I know what it's like to want the pain to stop. I think that the lives we lead are a product of our inner spirits, and that we create our lives based on our need to experience certain things in order to manifest our inner selves in front of our eyes so that we can see who we are more clearly and come to terms with that knowledge. So when I ask you why it is that so many of the people you hang out with are suicidal or od'ing, my immediate thought is that there's something in your inner being that has chosen this kind of experience for some reason. I'm humbly suggesting that you look inside yourself for some answers. But maybe you're not at the right point to do that yet. However here is another question you might want to think about: Why do you suppose you came to the conclusion that I was being a dick?
