If you're going to start posting shit loads of threads you can fuck off back to knotty locks. That aside, good progress.
I must admit I never thought you'd stick with it for that long. They're comming together nicely. Kudos...
not too bad, you're gonna want to keep them out of your face to avoid the dreaded emo look ala first pic
I'm pretty much just waiting for more length to solve that, for now the ponytail seems to be the best option. I like leaving it free, but it becomes inconvenient at times, like when I'm eating. or walking into the wind, can barely see as for why twist and rip - when I first started I didn't want to ask anyone to help me backcomb, and twist and rip seemed easier to do alone
they look more natural than twist n rip which is cool. they look nice, but the first pic is kind of emo and made me laugh. scene hair with dreads = epic win.
actually back to the issue of keeping it out of my face - I really don't like tying it back very much, but if I leave it free its natural tendency is to hang straight down my face. I can push it off to the side, but that only lasts until I move my head at all. any solution? what do you guys do about it? seems like everyone would have the same issue, at least until it gets long enough that the weight of the hair holds it behind your shoulders, or until it'll stay if you pull everything back over the top of your head.
Diton, it is not rocket science. Use your initiative for once and go on eBay, buy a hair band like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MENS-LADIES-S...UK_Girls_Accessories&var=&hash=item7b66765fef They ship world wide and the bands double up as a hair tie. I have 4 and are fab.
the whole hangy-downy-in-facey-thingy is a problem for me too. i have this one pain in the ass dread that never wants to stay back. it's wayyyyyy longer than yours, so i dunno if letting it grow will help or not. i figure just find a bunch of ways to style it. Welcome back, if you are you, as you are not as annoying as everyone seems to think and have successfully ignored the flaming thus far.
I was scared of having them in my face, so i just kept some of my bangs, so that it was easier to control :] Might work different and all...cause you're not a girl. But yeah. Or buy a headband, or use bobby pins... tie a couple back, braid them to ones that are further back (BRAIDING CAN BE MANLY) try parting them differently. Like hdh said, it's not rocket science Good luck with them once they get heavier. haha.
