well, this really sucks of green donkey dicks!

i'm working today and, i did not have anything to eat at home for breakfast. so, i phoned in an order for a pasta meal to pizza hut.
the closets pizza hut to me is about, 3/4 of a mile away. i walked to the outlet to pick up my order.
a guy named jeff served me. now jeff was a delevery person for pizza hut for a while, and when i need to have food delivered, most offen he was the person who delivered it.
i asked jeff, why i had not seen him around for about last 4 months?
he told me that, people had called the outlet and, bitiched to the manager about how scared they were of jeff, and why in the hell would pizza hut hire some "crimial element" like jeff to work for them!
why did these people think this of jeff?
because he has tatoos on his arms.
WTF! COME ON PEOPLE! THIS IS 2010, TATTOOS HAVE STARTED TO BECOME MAINSTREAM FOR, PEOPLE 40 YEARS OF AGE AND YOUNGER!

jeff lost his job as a delevery person, due to some narrow minded stuck up old farts. he now is a cook at the outlet.

moral: if you have tattoos, you are low life crimial shit in the eyes of the squares and, you must never, ever cross their path or, they will get you fired from your job!

when i run accross the stupidity of squares, i wish i could have a big pair of magic pliers, so i could pull that bug out of their asses! :D

I work at a pizza shop and my boss will hire just about anyone. Young, old, illegal immigrants, alcoholics, addicts, etc. But he wont hire people who have more than one visible tattoo.

Moral: Think before you act. People will find the stupidest reasons to discriminate against you.

do it, or complain that they would do something like that.

its just a drawing on someones skin for fucks sake. or, a different color skin then normal. I bet theyre afraid of black people too lol. Tell them to hire a big black guy. I bet he would scare more people just for being black...
I dont plan on getting any tattoos that visible for exactly this reason. I know people are fucks like that. Its unfortunate. At least he didnt lose his job completely.

In japan certain kinds of of tattooing actually are illegal. But that's because they were popularized by the yakuza.

But that Japanese style of tattooing is supposed to be the best/most vivid/longest lasting for colors. So when I get my back mural done I might find some underground Japanese tattoo criminal artist to do it for me.

Man that sucks. However, I can understand that a business doesn't want to displease it's customers and atleast they didn't completely fire him: they just changed his position.

    ugh, i know :< it sucks :<
one of my best friends worked at mcdonalds, in the BACK, and wasn't allowed to have piercings or tattoos. She did, but she had to put bandaid over her wrist tattoo (I DUN CUT MYSELF I SWEARS IT) and put a PLASTIC retainer inplace of her monroe/nose piercings on her face.

The thing that got me was she never saw other people, she did fries.

But that boss that guy has is really unfortunate to think that all people who have tats are criminals. He probably lived a very sheltered life.

not at all. tejas is an 'at-will' work state. they can fire you for any or no reason at all AND deny unemployment benefits...

We're not supposed to have visible tattoos at work. I have a 1" moon on my ankle that shows when I wear skirts or capris. My manager doesn't care, but on the days corporate visits, I have to be sure to wear long pants. We're also not supposed to have facial piercings or "excessive" ear piercings. So I keep a clear tongue ring at work in case the DM decides to visit. I'm planning on getting several more ear piercings and I doubt anyone will mention them as long as my ears aren't gauged or something.

I think our dress code is really stupid in general, though. We can only wear black, white, or khaki. No sleeveless, no piercings or visible tattoos. Nothing that could remotely be called casual. It's basically dress pants and shirts all the time. And this is for a tiny little maternity clothing shop.

As someone who is involved in hiring software engineers, I would say if you want to maximize your chance of getting hired, don't have any visible tattoos or piercings. People will doubt your judgment if you do.

Isn't that illegal??? It goes against freedom of speech; it's your body, and you can do what you like with it.

A friend on another site posted a pic of a girl who was denied access to Six Flags Amusement Park because of her tattoos.. She had on a tube top and has a chest/shoulder piece with 2 guns. The gate attendant said that it promotes violence. She went to another gate and got in. BTW her husband has full sleeves and had no problem. Once the local news got a hold of the story the park was very accommodating.

Moral of the story: it's not just employers who discriminate.
