I could really use your help if you know anything about addiction to prescription pain killers. My husband and i are really having a problem right now. How in the world are we going to beat this addiction? Is there anything anyone can tell me to help out a bit?
Just stop. Or, taper. Or realize the addiction and go with it- like buy a few bags of heroin and shoot them all, on a daily basis.
Stop taking them, stop hanging out with people that take them and find something to keep yourself busy. It will suck for a week or so but you will get over it. Then avoid putting yourself in bad situations, good luck.
Go back to the prescribing doctor and tell them what you posted. They will assist you in stopping and dealing with the withdrawal.
Thanks, that's real cute. Pretty stupid thing to say. I guess my question is, if i were to ask a doc for help in this situation, what kind of help could that doctor offer? Is there a medicine that can help us during that initial hard time? Thanks for you comments, i appreciate you time. Peace, Kitty
The whole problem is with Lortab and Percocet. We take Percocet in liquid form. This week i actually tried a medication called Suboxone, that's meant to help with withdrawl symptoms. It was very effective. It helped us to feel MUCH better. Anyone know much about it?
suboxone usually come in 2 or 10 milligram form...its an opiod agonist that helps with the withdrawals that come with getting off an opiate..i dont know how addicted you are but an entire ten milligram suboxone will alleviate withdrawal symptoms and make it pretty much impossible to get high off any opiate like percocet, heroin loritab ect. for 24 hours or more..thats if youre not ridiculously addicted like junkie status..if youre addiction isnt that serious try breaking off peices like a quarter, take that and see how you feel. if you start getting sick after a few hours take another quarter and so on. The best way to take them is to let them dissolve under your tongue..they taste pretty sick so what i do is dissolve them in a glass of water n just drink it as fast as i can...if you take suboxone long enough you can get addicted to it but withdrawal from suboxone is alot easier and doesnt take as long as opiate withdrawal..a few days of yawning and your eyes tearing up if you dont need to take it for more than a week or so. good luck to you n your husband! peace
