Like Sinatra, "I did it my way." I think that is the essence of what a hippie is. I graduated high school in 1969. I was on Berkeley campus summer of 69, lived in my '43 school bus in '71, hitchhiked to NYC New Years '72, went AWOL from Fort Gordon '73 to travel with a Rock n Roll band, was a bartender, a truck driver, a construction worker, a bookkeeper and at 36, an unwed mother. It wasn't much different than how my son is living today. Our tastes in music are the same. But the times that I came of age in were interesting times, indeed. Civil Rights, Viet Nam, Black Panthers, the draft, the moon. To have been on the road at that time was the greatest priviledge of my life.
Hello there & Welcome to the forums. Glad you found us. Come down to the games forum and crack some jokes with us. Sounds like you made it ok! Peaceful thoughts your way..... Farmout
Thank you for the welcome. I am named maxt_out for my 22yo son Max. That's a long sad story The log cabin and home bottling sounds familiar. After the school bus and before I mistakenly entered the Army in '72, friends and I lived in an abandoned farm house way out on "burnt ridge." We got electricity, but no toilet and had to haul water. My favorite memories are of fresh garden stew, fresh baked bread, and grapefruit sautern being shared under an enormous harvest moon. I'm giving someone a haircut and Scott and Troy are picking out a tune they call "Cream City Rag." Sound familiar . . . ?
I am a God loving Jesus freak and I love people! Sometimes...I'm a bit forward and ovewhelming, but there's more to me than my label I won't judge people..or I try not to. It's not my place. I love meeting people, making new friends, and doing crazy things! I hope to find people here that will accept me as I will try to accept them. I love reading! Soooo so very much. I love music, too. The psychadelic kind, and the country kinds, and the hip-hop kinds, and a lot of other kinds. I am proud to be a very diverse individual. It makes it easy to relate to other people. Talk to me! It's something I love to do. I'm new here, so to all you newcomers, I can relate! Welcome to a pretty sweet place
