to be honest I only heard two albums from PF wall and dark side....yes am a poser.

anyways I think Blie oyster Cult is the best 70s band with Judas Priest.

Ooooooh.... Well, you need to listen to piper, the division bell, and animals. (those are probably my favorite, but they're all so amazing it's hard to pick)

and I fucking love BOC, I hate how under rated they are, people think they're only good songs are don't fear the reaper and burnin for you.

Pink Floyd is still my all time favorite band of any decade, but out of the 70's I would add zeppelin (of course) BOC, and sabbath.

Edit: I never really got into judas priest, maybe I just never heard their good stuff, but I always thought they were kinda similar to maiden, but I like maiden a lot more.
But like I said, don't know much of their stuff

I wish Blue Oyster Cult had better production or something for their first 3 albums. They could have sounded a lot heavier but those songs are great as well as alot of their other stuff.

I agree. Would not be Pink Floyd as a whole since the sad death of Rick Wright. It's good that at Live 8 they performed together one last time.

indeed... ROGER WATERS is on tour, not pink floyd. you know... same music, different people. by the way, "Pink floyd on tour!!!! Ah!!!" is the title of the thread. slightly misleading? slightly. and frankly, i would much rather see blue cheer than mr. waters and co... so, thank you MTM for the heads up.

Well, Roger Waters composed "The Wall". Most of it anyway.
As it is his creation, I think he knows best how to produce it.
Waters doesn't need those tired ol' ex-floydians...he can get the best players in the world...come on, what rock guitarist would turn down the chance to play "Comfortably Numb", or "Young Lust" on a stage of the magnitude of a "wall" production...
( Mike Keneally played the solo from "Comfortably Numb" on top of a 50' tower in Berlin)
Waters doesn't' think small when it comes to sound or stage production...this shit's gonna be EPIC!

personally, i don't care for waters too much (or 'the wall'... or gilmour... or floyd in general). i hope it is epic, though. probably costs an epic amount of money to get in.

anyway, speaking of tired... isn't "the wall" kindof tired? i remember hearing 'comfortably numb' and 'another brick in the wall' almost everyday listening to classic rock stations growing up.

    Don't hold your breath...;)

    From wiki...
Blue Cheer guitarist Andrew MacDonald wrote on the group's website that "Blue Cheer is done. Out of respect for Dickie, Blue Cheer (will) never become a viable touring band again."
