I am curious, have any of you heard that this vitamin can enormously reduce the possibilities of a 'bad trip' while on acid? I read this in a book, Sex, Drugs, and Magick: A Journey Beyond Limits by Robert Anton Wilson. I am interested in this question because recently I ingested 6 mg of 2c-i about 2.5 hours into a trip on 33 mg of 2c-c. After this I noticed a small turn in the trip, (1 hour after ingesting 2c-i) I began to have an uncomfortable tense feeling in my spine and I felt like I had gone a long time with out sleep. Also, at this point much of the euphoria left me. So I decided to test the theory. I took a B-1000 multivitamin containing 500 mg of B3 Niacin, and to my surprise after about 30 min of stomach discomfort everything became immensely beautiful and emotional. I'm not sure if this was the effect of a placebo or if the vitamin really caused this change in events. Also, from what I read in the book you are supposed to take 3 grams of B3 and I only took 1/6 of that. If the B3 had this effect with 500 mg, it could have been due to the fact that I was on a rather small dose of 2c-i, which I think caused the discomfort in the first place. Let me know if you have any experience with this vitamin as a source of enhancing a trip. Also, I'd be interested in any other vitamins or supplements you take to enhance the experience. Here is the link to the aforementioned book in case you are interested: http://tiny.cc/8fcjc
I've only heard a rumour about Vitamin C allowing the body to absorb LSD, but I've also heard others say the opposite, so I don't worry about it.
Okay, I found some info on Erowid. "Unpleasant LSD and morning glory trips can be smoothed out or even stopped by taking niacin (in the form of nicotinic acid, vitamin B-3 or "niacin"). Vitamin C has been shown to reduce the incidence of paranoia and prevent depletion of the vitamin from the adrenal glands during LSD trips." The last few notes about Niacin and Vitamin C are based on a paperback edition of Hoffer & Osmonds "The Psychedelics". Any thoughts?
I'm not too sure that taking it in a multivitamin would be effective. But The B's are definitely mood stabilisers. I use those 5hour energy shots. You're not getting pill filler. It's liquid, so it hits much faster. Niacin flush is a sure sign you're getting a good dose. I never trip or go anywhere where there's tripping people, without one. Stuff works.
Vitamins do effect trips. I have concluded with multiple personal tests. The results are being written, in due time I will release my findings. Far to much to do on a whim. I was into herbal/natural/vitamin supplement enhancement far before psychoactives. Its good stuff if you know what your doing. But a quick note, Vitamin C & E are very good antioxidants, and phens are thought to cause free radicals. So it only makes sense, take these before/during/after your trip, it'll help your brain deal with the crazy things your putting inside yourself. One thing I've seen though is people taking supplements only right before/after a trip. Some vitamin effects don't come into play until weeks after consistent use. So, start preparing for your next journey now, then. Stay safe!
right on! i eat somewhat healthy, eat fortified cereal, and drink juice, so i get PLENTY of vitamin c and probably enough vitamin e in my main diet. i occasionally take a multivitamin and a fish oil pill (not related to the convo really). but i take a vitamin c pill or two (800-1600% DV) before/after i dose on 2ce. i figure the same thing can't hurt for LSD. i don't really buy that it will affect your trip that much. i'm sure it can have small effects, but enough to notice? LSD is much more potent than vitamin c and we all know that many variables affect a trip - hard to say it was the vitamins you take. i haven't heard anything about vitamin b3 though
