Anyone else here from the Island? I'm in Cobble Hill, 26 miles North of Victoria and 11 miles south of Duncan. I'd love to meet more Island people that share my views on life (Simple Self-Sufficiency)rettyplease: Lois
Planning on moving to BC sometime within a year. Deciding between the Lower Mainland (Maple Ridge, PoCo, Delta, Surrey) and the Island (Comox, Nanaimo, Duncan, Port Alberni) and Powell River. I am leaning heavily towards the Island, just not sure where.
LOL, NOT Duncan. It is the armpit of civilization, I'm glad I'm 11 miles awy from it southwards. Look at us little towns too- Cobble Hill, Shawnigan Lake, Cowichan Bay-forget Mill Bay, too touristy! I'm in CH, its okay. Quiet enough for now, but with commuters encroaching. And I live on one of the main roads into it, nice because we get plowed first in winter, but LOUSY with tourists all summer. Duncan's that bad? I was looking at some of the smaller towns, however I don't drive so living in a smaller town isn't all that practical when it comes to commuting.
Easy Peasy! We're not SO backwards we don't have transit buses. www.busonline.com Then find COWICHAN VALLEY and you'll see, we have a nice little area, and commuting ain't a hassle. WHAT do you do for a living. This household is all self emoployed with a boost from Welfare,except 1, who is being a jerk, paying no rent and eating us other 2 out of house and home. i live in victoria - i really enjoy it here! near downtown, near the great outdoors... wonderful not looking for a place, but good luck finding someone who works out
