Sorry I can't comment on the quality of either scale, as I have never used either one.

I just wanted to add that if you have the extra money lying around, you should most definitely invest in the best scale you can afford. You'll be much happier with a nice high quality scale, and you can always resell it later if you decide you don't need it anymore. It's resale value will remain high if it is a well known quality scale.

There's a big and dandy scale thread over at bluelight. Never read through it myself, but you might be able to get some opinions by either reading through that thread or possibly posting your question there.

You can definitely find scales in the $30-$50 range that will do the job just fine... $167+ is a bit excessive. I have this one and it works great. I think I found it on Ebay or Amazon for $35...

But... you can buy whatever scale you want :)

AWS makes very nice mg scales and are very cheap, ~20-30 bucks for one, last I knew ebay had some..

I've got a GemPro 25 and can highly recommend it.

Works like a charm, and you can easily notice the difference from those cheap scales. On top of that, they got 30 years warranty.

I bet a lot of the cost goes into the leveling bubble and the feet...maybe the vibration pad and backlight on screen.

I doubt the electronics or the mechanism of the scale are much different.

This is all just a guess though...and having leveling feet, vibration pad, and a bubble would be nice at times.

I bought the gempro 250 scale nearly two years ago and I'm happy with it... If I could do it all over again I think I would have bought the acculab scale though because with mine I have to put like 4 mgs on the scale before it reads anything besides zero and then it's pretty accurate after that point. but it's not the best scale for weighing out doses in the 1-3 mg range..

I have a MyWeigh Gem Pro 50 and an American Weigh DIA-20.

I only use my gempro. There is a huge difference between a scale that uses 4 balance points vs 2under its weighing platform. they should at least use three.

American Weigh DIA-20 uses two and that makes it extremely difficult to get accurate readings.

    Whats the gempro 250 like?
