my husband's boss called the house this morning to see if he wanted his last paycheck and record of employment mailed out or if he was going to pick it up. she said that his last day of work was yesterday. he went in to work today. i think. he's not here, and he hasnt said anything to me about being laid off right now. he told me that he had work until january at least. this is just fucked up.
Unlucky... Well don't worry too much, I bet the cat house has been looking after him pretty good...
wow. that sucks. at least they did it during a time of the year that one doesnt incur extra expences.....sorry sarcasm is not appropriate and I should be shot. try not to judge him too harshly, I am sure he loves you but is just very proud, no man ( or woman I am sure) likes getting laid off.
hm, i really doubt that he's cheating. i dont think that he'd want to lose his family and his job all at the same time.
he's not neccasarily cheating... maybe he's just stalling for time because he's afraid to tell her. that sounds like something i would do.
yep, one time when we really needed money and when i would go into work, i would find out that they didnt need me. i wouldnt want to go home cause id be afraid to tell dan so i would go to the bar and have a few drinks and think.
i'm with trish on this one...i think that he is just trying to act like he's going to work because he is afraid you will either be pissed or disappointed...as wrong as the act of not telling you is...he has my sympathy...that's part of his manhood, you know?
bars are cool. I like dive bars best of all. They ove you there and only ask questions to better service you.
he might be stalling, or there might have been some weird kind of miscommunication at work. i dunno--his boss is kind of strange. it's going to be an interesting weekend.
when he tells you don't get upset at him obviously if he hasn't told you it's because he feels de-masculated. Just ask him about it tonight and be there to talk and together come to a solution and assure him that him being laid off in no way diminishes your respect or love for him.
it's a seasonal job anyways, but there's a lot of busywork in the offseason. supposedly there was enough work for him until january, and then he'd have a couple of months off until spring.
