Can anybody help? I dreaded my hair last December, shortly afterwards I dyed it brown. I had previously (in the space of about a year) dyed in tropical green, blue, red, purple and blonde and looked like a mashed up sweet so brown was the only way to go. I want to change my hair for the summer as I think it's high time for colour once again!! So I bleached a trial dread at the nape of my neck. (I always bleach first as I'm naturally auburn/ ginger!) When I did the trial dread it went a horrible greeny colour, so I haven't done any others as I'm worried it will ruin them all. What can I do, I miss being colourful but don't want to ruin my new dreadies
make sure whatever color yer gonna color it that it has red in it, like red brown for example, the red will conteract the green
or embrace the green haha, best to listen to domi ^^^ she's a beautician (is that the right word for it? :S)
you can bleach your hair. then change it anything you want. bleaching only takes like 30 mins at a salon.
I did bleach my hair kinebud - that's what made it turn a horrible green colour but there's no way I'd go to a salon, I'm more of a home dye kinda gal alaska greenie are you called that cos you have green hair?! I did embrace the green when it was Stargazer tropical green, that was sooo lush!! Domi I want to go blonde for a bit just until I decide what colour, how could I dye it blonde but not go green? I will post some pictures up I promise, they're on a cd somewhere in the depths of my room at the moment though ^_^ thanks all for your help ^_^
pretty much if yer not going to get a pressional to bleach it go to sallys get some good bleach and ignore the ppl who work there they dont know shit lol and get a red base toner to put in yer hair after itll take away the green, also dont go any high then 20v with the bleach and do the roots last unless u want hot roots ( like once u get about 2-3 shades darker then what u want then put it on the roots cuz they take faster ), and sorry if that didnt make sense i tryed making it so itd be understandle by a non hairdresser edit** lil tip the green will keep comeing back so u can put a lil bit of red kicker (have it at sallys) in yer shampoo when ever u wash yer hair the non-green effect will last longer
haha, no i don't have green hair. i wish i was that cool. my job doesn't allow 'unnatural' hair colors, and i have very dark brown hair and tend to stay away from bleach good luck with your blonde quest
thanks so much domi - the blonde quest shall continue, I'll post some pics up (if it turns out OK lol) it is understandable, even to my tired brain which is saying something thank yous
