Well, not all of them. But yeah, I've been thinking about it. The answer has been right in front of our eyes this very whole time. Sea-weed I think that if scientists figured out how to genetically engineer cannabis plants to grow under the water, we'd be all set. Think about it.... -Virtually limitless amount of available growing locations -Grows would be undetectable to the casual onlooker -If cannabis was cross-bred with actual seaweed, it could grow at ridiculously quick rates. There are some types of seaweed that grow quickly enough that the human eye can actually see the plant growing. This would allow for plants that grow at phenomenal speeds to huge sizes, which would mean even better harvests. -Underwater environments would be easy to maintain in controlled settings. -Nutrients would be easy to deliver, and the risk of pesks & disease significantly lowered. I've seen tomatoes infused with THC, and I've read a bit about the Genie Mist spray thing. So as long as someone can also figure out how to dry the bud once you get it out of the water, we'll be all set. (I'm going to have to ask you all to look past the idea that this is impossible and just entertain me. rettyplease: Thanks.)
Well, I figure since it's marijuana, given it's reputation as the miracle plant, it could somehow solve all that oil-nonsense too.
I could take this a couple different directions- depending on whether this is to be a serious topic or something to be contributed for the purpose of amusement and entertainment as it is pointless to shoot holes in the logic of something offered up in jest.
It's purely for amusement and also entertainment, but it's also something that'd be cool to consider for down the road when genetic engineering is further developed and advanced. If it were serious, I'd actually think out all of the logical flaws and errors and account for them. Because I don't tend to throw out flawed ideas (at least, not fatally flawed) unless their interest isn't a large concern of mine.
I thought so. I'm supposing that this could be expressed in parodied biblical passage style- for instance, instead of: "Cast your bread upon the waters", it's, "Grow your stash upon the waters" or somesuch... Not entirely sure the cannabis plant would flourish in a saltwater environment. Besides, if the sharks got into the weed, then they'd get the munchies and we don't want that now, do we?
Well, I'm going to count on THC's need to be heat-activated to prevent any potential Jaws scenarios. I'm not sure about the salt. I don't know enough about biology.
oh, long time ago there was some weed that smelled like diesel fuel, I cant believe some people smoked it..
Nero, you never responded to that wall post thing I left for you asking where your sig picture was taken at.. I must know :O
if you could devise a system of barges to grow things on it would be possible to grow more than weed. you could grow lots of reeds and grasses, and other plants that could withstand the salt spray. this would add a resource for basket/ hat making, as well as things you can eat (edible things grow everywhere) woven mats floating on the sea could support some life, with plants able to get support through the mats. making a basically man made marsh would entice water birds to hunt there and fishes to swim below the mats, as long as they are staked down they wont float away, and if a hurricane destroys it, it could be rebuilt. its always how to grow more/better weed. pot heads are creative, try and come up with world problem solving solutions. hunger, overpopulation, greenhouse gasses, global dimming (which is 'easy' to fix, but would cook us if we don't get the CO2 under control first). think about how much weight we'd have as potheads if we solved the worlds problems. I bet they'd have a hard time keeping it illegal if we actually prove that not all potheads are slow dumb and lazy, and /add stereotype of choice here.
Yeah. If we could grow actual weed in the water, that would mean that hemp could be grown too. This would mean virtually limitless amounts of hemp for whatever we need it for. And seeing as hemp can be used for basically everything, this new development could/would be of drastic economical merit and benefit, should it come into existence. http://www.hort.purdue.edu/newcrop/ncnu02/v5-284.html
