CRUMMYRUMMY'S GROUND TURKEY AND ITALIAN SAUSAGE SALISBURY STEAK WITH NEWCASTLE BROWN ALE GRAVY

    2/3 lb. ground turkey
    1/3 lb. mild Italian sausage
    ½ c. bread crumbs
    ¼ c. chopped Italian parsley
    ¼ c. chopped white onion
    ½ tsp. celery salt
    ½ tsp pepper
    1 egg

    2 tbsp. flour
    1 tbsp. oil

    1 tbsp cornstarch
    ¼ cup cold water□
    ½ c. Newcastle Brown Ale
    2/3 c. chicken broth

Using hands, combine meat, bread crumbs, onion, celery salt, pepper and egg in a mixing bowl. Shape into 4 ½ in. thick patties. Dip each into flour and sauté in a chicken fryer over medium heat in heated oil for 10-12 minutes. Remove from pan and place on warm plate.
Dissolve 1 tbsp cornstarch in cold water. Drain all but 1 tbsp drippings from pan and stir in cornstarch/water. Cook 1 minute over medium heat. Stir in ale and broth and cook for about 3 minutes until lightly thickened and bubbly. Spoon sauce over steaks and serve to friends or family.
    Serves 4.

I think substituting Samuel Smith’s Taddy Porter for the Newcastle in the sauce sounds also sounds yummy.
