Hi, brothers and sisters from USA. We are from Russian Rainbow Family. Our names Gin and Chesnok. And we are going to visit you. But, we will be in USA only at end of July.
In Russia Rainbow people live on the Rainbow during the whole summer. What about USA? Or may be we will late?

In the usa it is illegal to camp in the same spot in a national forest for more than 2 weeks.They also always try to make someone sign a permit which is illegal in our constitution.I would love to have a whole summer gathering but in america it always keeps moving .The nation gathering ends july 7 but clean up still happens for a while afterwards.There are many smaller regional rainbow gatherings happening all over the country after the national is over.There is always a rainbow gathering somewhere.You just have to find out where and how to get there.Hope you enjoy your trip here and as always you are always warmly welcomed at any usa rainbow gathering .Hope to see you soon!!!! Thank you for information. What a pity : ) In this case we would like to visit some regional rainbow gatherings. We plan to begin our travel from Boston near 25 July, we will move by West coast, and after that go to California. Could you advise something about regional rainbow gatherings and about interesting Places? And what about hitch-hiking? It illegal in some state?

Seriously, many folks are focusing on getting to the Gathering. You may not get as many responses as you normally would.

Yes, hitching is illegal in many states and can be dangerous. This IS the U.S. after all. Somalia ain't got nothin' on us when it comes to violence!!!

Don't know when you last looked at welcomehome, but rob stopped keeping up with a calendar of regionals years ago.

I guess welcomehere has the closest thing to a comprehensive calendar, but I'd triple & quintuple check anything I saw on there before heading off into the great unknown, as I have known Lookingheart to deliberately post misinformation there before.

 

You're right, WT. Been years since regionals were posted. Guess some old habits die hard. I'm used to sending folks to Welcomehome for just about anything Rainbow. (((shrug)))

The Rainbow Family Gatherings site does have a forum for Regionals. That may be a useful resource.

I didnt know it was illegal, though a cop did give me a warning coming from Milwaukee once. And a ride to a highway or truck stop after a Dead show trippin.

 

O, this is another question and issue for argue. What we think about law and how we live in Babylon. : ) For example, we haven’t legalize in our country at all.
As for our cops, sometimes they advise to be careful on the road, hm, very kind people sometimes : ))).

i'm in az and about 100 miles east of phoenix...i'm also in the las vegas, nevada a large part of the year and have plenty of space in either place! you also have friends in the albuquerque and flagstaff areas...so you're pretty much covered in this part of the country!

if you were here now you could come tubing with some friends and me down the mighty gila river tomorrow! everyone else within eye-range (reading this) is also invited...the river is only a mile from here/home and i have a half dozen or so tubes ready to rock on the river! i'm in the winkleman/hayden area of az and sad to say, can't make it home this year...but by the time you get into the heat of august you'll be ready for a cool refreshing day on the river (it's pretty damn hot right now too)! so let's go tubing!
