I just discovered the joy of vanilla soy milk:D I have been hesitating to try it because I thought it would taste bad, but I have no other means of protein so I gave in and bought it and now I cant stop drinking it! How does regular soy milk taste in comparison? Also, tell me what your means of protein are, besides soy milk. I need some alternatives........
    Thanks veggies:sunglasse

You need approximately 45-50 g of protein a day for a healthy lifestyle, protein is found in tofu, hoummous, beans, pulses, beansprouts and rice are some alternatives

Whilst possible, it's very unusual for a veggie or vegan to suffer from a lack of protein. Unless you're eating a very poor diet, you shouldn't have anything to worry about on that front.

mushrooms, beans, grains (hey!! Animals as big as horses who have big muscles live off it!) ,soymilk, tofu, meat alternatives, veggieburgers, nuts, milk products (non-vegan...sorry...),eggs (non-vegan again...sorry), Protein Shakes (may be non-vegan), so....much...can't...list.....

Normal soymilk takes some gettinmg used to, but it kicks ass on cereals!!!!MMMMMMMM....yum,yum......

hmm... not personally a fan of regular soy milk. tastes a bit... i dunno, almost nutty! vanilla is awesome tho; i'm drinking it in tea right now!
i don't think you need to worry about protein really. most people get too much of it from what i've heard and as long as you have your soy milk you'll probably be fine!

Like the Doktor said, the protein thing is not as big of a deal as people seem to think. If you like soups and casseroles and things like that, soft tofu is a great addition for a bit of extra protein, as are ground nuts and bean pastes.

I personally think that soy milk is the greatest beverage ever, because it has emulsifiers in it so you can do alot of interesting things with it. It also often has some lovely vitamins and things like that added in. And it really is terrific on cereal.
