Just wanted to let you guys know what's going on with my hair. I have been washing with regular shampoo the last month or so, I was content on just letting my hair grow and not going for dreads. I washed with bronner's today, and I think I'm going to continue that for awhile and see what happens. My hair is about 6 inches long.
My hair is longer, but like I said I have been washing with shampoo and conditioner, so there is no progress.
you posted an update to say that you've been shampooing and conditioning your hair, AND that your hair is longer then when you posted before. that's a lot of information for one post. perhaps you should consider breaking it up into two posts if you're going to make a similar post to this one in the future, for the readers sake
You guys are being a little harsh, I thought some of you might be curious. If you really want a pic i'll post, but its just longish hair, nothing special.
im pretty sure just washing with bronners wont create dreads. before i had mine crocheted i had a few baby dreads from washing with normal poo but just no combing, save urself some dosh man and just use bog standard poo till u got some knottage goin on, u want dreads, dont brush.
:iagree: For real you can use any shampoo and still get dreads. I've used normal shampoo, I've used anti residue shampoo, now I am on this cleansing shampoo that doesn't leave residue and helps keep my dreads nice and soft. I spent like $20 for a whole liter, and my dreads have been great for the past month. shampoo is shampoo either way starting to use booners is not going to make a difference then using suave ..
You need a residue-free shampoo or residues will be left in your hair. I thought this was common knowledge here? Anyway, bronner's is definitely going to promote knotting more than a bottle of regular shampoo, that's a fact. I have already had dreads form from doing this, but combed them out and then cut my hair (last year). I was just saying that I was going back to the residue free soap, and for the time being fueling my dread obsession.
I don't need anymore character building lol I work at the fresh air fund all summer, working with kids about teamwork, training and high ropes
whered u get ur bronners from by the way? is there a cheap useable equivalent in shops (england) or am i gonna have to just buy it online?
I've been going neglect for a month and a half using Kirkland shampoo from Costco. It's working ok. I do think that if I switched to bronners it would knot up faster, but I think my hair would look awful because of it while waiting for the dreads to form. But the Kirkland is definitely not residue free, but it's still going nappy. =)
That's what I thought, although maybe before you start getting some serious knots it doesn't matter as such, because it's harder for that residue to actually get trapped in them.
