a friend of mine was telling me this story about watching the Scooby Doo movie (the first one, if there was more than one). there's some scene in a restaurant where a waiter announces to everyone: "Phone call for Mr. Doo..." and Scooby pops his head up and asks, "Scooby?" The waiter says, "No. Melvin Doo."

apparently, my friend thought it was really funny how the waiter said, "No. Melvin Doo..." I still have never seen that movie so I still don't really get it. i understand the joke, but it's pretty dumb.

anyways, I always liked how she told the story - that alone was really funny to me even though i didn't really get was she was talking about. and i think at the time that i registered, names could only be so many characters long (8, i guess). or at least I thought it could only be 8 characters long and fit "Melvin Doo" into "MelvnDoo"

i never even liked having "Melvn" in my screen name (i could come up with something WAY cooler ), but since it's still funny to me it's totally been worth it
