Is being overweight viewed in the same category as being ugly or considered unattractive trait that spoils the interest in getting to know someone.
I think it's an individual thing...however in general, from studies I've seen, I would say the answer to your question would be "yes" for the majority of people. It tends to be true for me, however I've learned a few things in the past few years that have changed me somewhat in this regard.
Friggin' right. I learned to stop being down on myself... now I have to swat the boys away like flies.
I think that this is also a maturity issue. Those who are immature not only make fun of those who are overweight but also are cruel and do so as they lack the self confidence themselves to make decisions based upon more than external. By immature I do not mean necessarily as in young people, I refer to all age groups. Society does say what the norm is and if we do not fit in that mold then it means someone somewhere is going to comment. People who are overweight are an easy target as it is perceived that it is their own fault. Any person who I have ever met who has been negative about other peoples weight, have their own issues with body image. I think health is a multifaceted issue, and if you address it that way then weight is only a part of it. I have no answers other than to be as healthy as you can be given what ever your weight might be.
Well the stereotypes are alive and well Fat people smell, don’t exercise, are fast food junkies, have an uncontrollable appetite, are lazy, greedy, gluttonous, sexually depraved, and are a health risk nightmare for any employer Hotwater
Hey! Fat people have feelings too! But,seriously,a lot of women like the husky man,a lot of men like the fuller sized female. If they are beautiful on the inside & you like that extra meat,Bonus! But,I'm sorry. If I see an extremely overweight person that is too damn lazy to take a shower & brush their teeth as well as just being an outright slob, then I will have to make a constructive comment about that. That's for ANYONE,fat or thin.Personal hygene is a must, regardless of your personality.
True personal hygiene is a must for everyone; but you can’t help but think “does that fat slob smell because he has food crumbs caught in the folds of all that fat?” :ack2: Hotwater
Yeah i like Guys with meat on their bones. I am a thick female myself and i can remember my uncle once said you can loose weight but you can't loose ugly.
