does anyone know the technical word phrase for the world outside of ourselves? like, when i scan a room and take in visual information, what does one call the information that I am perceiving?

i'm trying to write a paper on it but I can't start the research if i don't know what it's called

I think maybe you are looking for a specific word that doesn't exist.
