I just got a mind fuck.

If a country had been constantly at war for a long amount of time, wouldn't it be the same as if they were constantly at peace?

    ...I've been overanalyzing 1984 again.

I dont know if I'm totaly understanding you on this one...

Are you saying that war simply becomes normal and they break up normality with peace? I suppose it would be the same, but you have to consider that peace allready isn't normal. I dont think society could go more than ten years without starting some kind of violence and war...

That only depends on how much war there is and how bad the losses of it are...

um.... well not really. either way it's just a sort of static state, but, conditions under peace are different than those under war.

Actually... there's many ways to view the question. Rather strange question it is.

well, for anyone who didnt notice, the US is always at war (almost, or with different names like 'policing action'). The Cold War was pretty much a psychological war, so virtually all the effects on the mentality and fuctionality of the population were war-state... So i guess your right on some level. i think we humans have been dukin it out for so long that i dont think we've ever had 'peace' really.
