I don't think the question is if they have a good or bad global view. Sometimes they just have a wrong way of seeing things, because they haven't seen them. The world isn't the States and neither is just Europe. It's a whole. Focus on the things that really matter*
health care is over shadowed by a big gloopy mess in the gulf.. but after thats all over alot of people are going to need health care.. The cancer rate is going to sky rocket!! stock up on farm raised fish ... now!!
Whats really going to hurt, is when hurricanes start coming ashore and spread oil for miles and miles inland...
if everyone living along the mississipi river and it tributaries. would flush their toilets all at once.. we can flush the gulf, send the oil slick to south america and it wouldnt be our problem anymore..
^ I just wanna say that with the American educational system. most people will think my plan will work perfectly.. They wanna know what time this is gonna be... "shrugs:
thanks guys for your opinions, definitely want more international opinions!! I kind of figured this is what the outcome would look like.. but at the same time its kind of shocking to see it statistically..
Bad not a terrible nation if people per say, but the powers that be are entirely without morals. The UK has been badly influenced, and I know i'm creating a strawman when I say that, but i'm thinking modern times and the war generally.
When I traveled through Europe in 2004, I was very well received everywhere, and they knew I was American. I was surprised, as I felt I would be viewed as the Ugly American.
We like the Americans, the ones I know who live around my neighborhood are funny. It's just a shame some bring the huge majority down but thinking about it, it's the same everywhere, America is so big it's easy to focus on your nasties.
we like the american people over here, but not the wall street kind of type hahaha they act if know everything....but then again....there a lot of people in holland acting that way too
I have been to 20 countries, some rather extensively, and made friends in all those countries, and more, and, the reputation is not as bad as some of you make it out to be. Try to travel around a little, it will open your eyes. I am currently living in another country, and America is not as hated as you would think here either. (I speak of the average American person)
I wouldn't go to the states to spend any significant amount of time if I was payed to. I don't like all the propaganda, the "we're the greatest, fuck the rest" attitude, the vanity, etc. I know of course that not everywhere in the states is like this. I've been many times to different states and I can't say the greatest things. The scenery was okay, but I found the people to be quite bitchy and edgy. Just my experience.
The idea of america-(OK-the USA)the constitution-probably most of our citizens-the ability to get in a car and drive for thousands of miles without hindrance-the fantastic geography-the wonderful sub-cultures(cajun,for example)-the good things america has done-inventions,science,movies,protecting the world (WW11)are some of the attributes we have. The hubris of some of us is deplorable and the sooner we in this country start to consider the rest of the the world as fellow brothers and sisters, and not some backwards people to be taken advantage of-the sooner peace will break out. Now,those of us that seek power, political and/or vast riches, are the ones that garner the headlines-distort the election processes with that money, lie, cheat without any stirring of conscience-and bull around the world as if they own it-those are the bastards that give us here a bad name. Hell, the rest of us are pretty nice and are just along for the ride.---Come and see us.
It's all because of USA's politicians and wars and not so much because of some seriously stupid people. I think that's probably opinion of majority. What bothers me most are some American scientist with they stupid experiments and big media houses. In general, I respect and love America, their scientists and NBA.
